Is playing ranked worth it?
I tried playing it a couple months ago, but it took 15 minutes to just get into a game where ppl didn't leave. When we did get into a game, everyone just kept verbally abusing each other :/

It's fun, but it really depends if it is something you personally enjoy. The verbal abuse will not go away, but verbal abuse also happens in regulars. The waiting to start a game may make ranked less attractive, but people don't do it much once you get past provisionals, except when it is obvious your team comp is going to lose or someone on your team is obviously trolling champ select.
Also, some of the ranked rewards are nice.
A lot of people take ranked very seriously, to the point where they rage often. Ranked is worth it if you do not let it get to your head. If someone rages at you, learn to mute them and move on. If someone is feeding (whether on purpose or just due to lower skill level) learn to accept that not all games will be a win for you.
Often time, I try to take away from a game what I can do better, whether its a win or a loss. For example, I tend to be out of position as an adc in teamfights, so I try to work on playing the role more correctly. :D Just be positive and ranked can definitely be a big help to your gameplay!
In my opinion, ranked has people with more skill and people who are trying to win as a team. Accept the ragers and ignore them. Practice being the best you can be. It is worth it.
