Is Leaving a Good Idea?

I think everyone has had to leave a game before because they had to do something else (which I have done many times), then you get the message, "If you leave you may be banned from other games", really? I think that's just weird

Now, If someone has to leave a game because something really important happens in their lives and you have to leave a game, is that really a big deal? I mean, it seems like leaving a game is so important if that happens. Now if you leave and say, you want to play with a friend so you leave the game you were in, you could still play. So, you are not "banned" yet. Until you leave the game ( x it out). Then if you try to log back on, it says that you have to wait until the next day or something... and then I start to rage because I cant play one of my favorite games! Olaf

So, I think by doing that they are trying to make people who have to go, be like "NOO I cant go! Were almost at the nexus and I'm 24 and 0!!!" blah blah blah... So do they think that playing a game is more important then going to do something in someone's real life? I don't know...

Leave a comment below if you agree..

Thanks

This isn't an issue for somebody who genuinely leaves once every couple hundred games.

People like you, however, who consistently leave games, are going to be subject to suspension. And nobody gives a damn -- don't queue up when mom says you're supposed to be doing your homework, or when it's 9:42PM and your dad says your bedtime is 10PM, or when it's thunderstorm'ing outside and you've already lost power twice in an hour, or when your chubby 14 year old "girlfriend" sends you a "hay cute :))))))" text, or whatever excuse you tweenage cretins think anybody is fool enough to believe.

I believe it is unreasonable of us, as players, to expect another player to put everything in their life on hold for the game. Life is certainly more important.

I think it's at least as unreasonable for players to think they can just leave any time they want. It's a team game, and your team needs you.

Which is to say, while I can forgive an occasional leave due to life-stuff, or even just flat disconnects, if your time management skills are so poor as to have you running afoul of Leaverbuster, I have absolutely no sympathy. It's not like it's a complicated thing. Don't queue for games when you know you won't have at least an hour free to play them. Don't queue for games when you're having power/internet troubles.

If you can manage those two things, and you aren't a ragequitter, I can guarantee you'll never be hit by Leaverbuster.

I think this is a matter of respect.

You're being incredibly selfish to leave a game for personal reasons in life simply because that reason is more important than the current game is to you. This is because 9 other people suffer from your decision and get none of your benefit. This is often examined in economics as a negative externality. Your action benefits you and negatively impacts people externally. If everyone behaved like this everyone would be worse off. So to prevent this, a penalty is in place to stop people from behaving this way. Now you'll only leave if the reason is bigger than leaving that game AND not being allowed to play for a few days. That's a more meaningful penalty and may make people reconsider if they really should leave.

Leaving a game because a friend signed in and wants to play with you is simply unacceptable! Frankly someone who does this should be permanently banned from this game. Instead of wasting 20 min to an hour of 9 other people's time, your friend can wait 20 minutes to get a game with you.

Leaving a game because your parents caked you for dinner is also unacceptable. Don't start playing if there's even a plausible chance you'll be unable to finish.

Leaving a game because the police came to your house and informed you that your mother was in a car accident and is at the hospital? Of course you can do that, and you're not going to get banned because your mother isn't in car accidents every week (unless she's an awful driver, in which case you have other concerns).

Each person is responsible for drawing their own line, but keep in mind that there are 9 other players in each game who are affected by your decision. Frankly, punishments for leaving more than a small percentage of the time should be much higher.

A lot of people, myself included, love League of Legends and take it very seriously. We are competitive and play to win. When we have teammates who leave, they will cause us to lose more than half the time. How would you feel if something left because they had to feed their cat, and it caused you to lose the game? You wouldn't cat all high and mighty and be "totally okay" with it.

Did you honestly think anyone would agree with you? I really hope riot sees this and permabans your account because you obviously don't seem to understand why leaving a game like LOL is a D!ck move. If you don't have the time to play then don't play it's just that simple, you know what you are getting into when you play LOL so it's dumb to try and make excuses for why you constantly leave games. Now if you have a real life emergency or something you need to deal with in real life, that you weren't expecting when you started the game and it forces you to leave, that is fine. Moments like that can't be helped. But that is obviously not the case with you since you are clearly making it sound like you just leave the games for any reason and then get upset because you can't play anymore that day, even though if you did you would just leave again.

In the end it's plain and simple if you don't have the time to play LOL don't play it.
