Rewarded AND Chat Restricted + Feeders...

Sooooo,

I got chat/ranked restricted, I don't think I said anything too severe,,, usually just responding to trolls and feeders which.. I guess that is punishable so whatever... I'll take my chat restriction and deal. (I think the automated system is horribly broken)

BUT... I also got the 4IP boost they were giving out for 'nice' players or whatever... How broken is this review system? If i'm so toxic i need chat/ranked restrctions.. why the heck are you giving me a 4IP boost reward?...

On top of all this.. Despite the "5%" number riot cites. I generally have about one 'feeder' per game and then a troll or two mixed in who just verbally abuses me or others.. and then reports us.

I end up reporting about a person per game.. sometimes 2-3 its pretty unplayable. Last 3 games tonight:

Game1: Darius 0/5/0 (AFK), Ahri 2/8/3, Rengar 0/4/4 (50CS). stuck as support we went 8/5/8 combined bot lane Rengar refused to communicate.. Darius went AFK after dying 5 times.

Game2: Our Irelia refused to come out of the jungle refused to gank or help me (no idea why.. just said "you suck") despite the fact i was winning lane.. But ok no obligation to help me ireliea finally came out of jungle when she reached 40 stacks on feral flare.. and cleaned up last fight and took exposed nexus.. -.- 40 minute game.. should've been over at 20 ireliea generally toxic.. all game but not via chat.. People told me to STFU etc because I asked her to come join team.

Game3: Elise our jungle went 0/16 just walked into turrets all game and intentionally fed.. said "it was GG at start enemy Riven was plat" so thats why she never tried.. i guess?

Yet I'm chat restricted for calling these types of players idiots -.-

I realize the 3 games are ancetodal... not a large enough sample size.. and all that jazz..

But unfortunately.. its my sample size.. and it pretty much ruined an evening of play for a single player.. Doesn't matter if 'on average' it works out.. you get one night like that and its a shitty un-fun experience for the player.

I'll take all the cursing and swearing and name calling in chat you can muster.. just match me with players that TRY.

I have a feeling the Negativity Bias is getting to you. First off, you are playing mainly normals right now, and your last Ranked games, presumably before your restriction, were victories. I know it's frustrating to get a really bad player on your team, I'm not going to say that those weren't negative experiences, but it's not like you had LP on the line for those games. If you're reacting badly to when there isn't any pressure to win, then I can somewhat see why you may have had problems in Ranked games.

Second, I know that it feels bad to have leavers/feeders/trolls, but how does railing on someone who is "trolling" or "feeding" helpful to anyone involved? They could b doing it on purpose, in which case it won't make any difference, and you should report and move on. If they are simply bad or not trying, then you swearing at them isn't going to make them try any harder. In fact, doing so can often be counter-productive, as it can make someone even more self-aware that they're messing up in the first place, and put them on tilt even further. They could be drunk/tired and not be focusing as well, in which case once again swearing at them isn't going to make them pay any more attention. In all of the above cases, not only is it ineffective against whom you are paying attention to, it also distracts yourself from making plays to help make up the difference or make the comeback real, and are also demonstrating yourself as "that raging jerk" to your allies.

That's even assuming they are trolling or feeding on purpose. After all, when you're put on back heel, you're just a guy having a bad day, but when someone else is put on back heel then they're a feeding idiot who isn't trying hard enough. It's the same thing with driving: you're speeding because you're late to something, that guy is speeding because he's a reckless idiot. Yeah, that Elise was probably intentionally feeding (I can't verify it using the extended match history, since it only displays ranked games), but the others?

As for why they're giving you a 4-win IP boost, I can't tell for certain, but of all the things you have to worry about, a charitable IP boost is the least of your problems.
