Pink Wards Are Bad

I think the complete removal of pink wards is a big mistake. Players now have absolutely no way to see evelyn, shaco, rengar, etc coming until they are right on top of you. And if you do use a pink ward, then the enemy team can instantly destroy it. I think there needs to be a ward that gives vision of such stealthed champions even if it does not give vision of enemy wards. It is really hard to deal with certain champions, such as the ones I listed, and keep them from snowballing without them.

Pink wards and true vision were being spammed too much, creating ward wars which made supports even more meaningless than they were before. To balance this problem out, Riot redid how wards and support work. The new pink wards require more strategy and skill than before AND now they are not spammable, which is actually very nice.

Countering stealth champions is also more strategic now with placement of wards. Frustrating, but Riot will either balance this out with new vision items or keep it as is. I can see your frustration with Evelynn and Rengar.

invisibility will be reworked. this is preseason chaos. riot will adapt. though personally i like the vision changes. the stealth champs will just need to be tweaked a little to deal with this.

While ward wars were annoying and ultimately costed your team support value, I think that the big problem with pink wards is that they aren't invisible now. Saying that there is strategy in placing them is just justification. Correct me if I'm wrong, because I don't play support, but just about everyone who plays this game knows every nook and cranny of the rift. No amount of smart placement is going to keep the enemy from finding and destroying your wards. Just saying. I agree with Overlord. Pink Wards are bad.

I think a decent "compromise" would be to keep the current cap on how many you can place but make them invisible again. That way they can't be spammed but they can also stay up without being immediately removed and it will cost the enemy either a trinket use or a pink ward of their own. People say there's strategy involved now that they're visible, but that seems to be the opposite of what's happening. If you see the enemy place a pink ward you go kill it if you're ahead and hope they're dumb enough to try and defend or you completely ignore it if you're behind. At least this way you add some strategy back into pink ward placement. "Do they have their red trinket up? Do they have their own pink ward?"

Of course, if they make them invisible again they'll have to have a duration again as well.

yeah I don't think the wards are bad I think the ward range is WAY too SMALL and the trinkets are useless until the enemy is right on top of you too.
