Hello everyone, I am TheCrimsonRock, and I am new to League. I have lots of experience with SMITE, and am looking into trying Lol. I would appreciate any tips or hints, and apologize if I am in the wrong board.

Hi there and welcome to the game!

I suggest trying out the free champions (they rotate every week) before buying any, so you can get a feel for the game and see if any of the champs lean towards your style.

Check out the wiki (http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/League_of_Legends_Wiki) to read up on champions and you can look up guides online on certain champions to get an idea on how they play and how to build them.

If you find players you like playing with, add them to your friend list so you can learn the ropes with them, as well as ask questions. I sent you a friend request so I can try to help out if you see me online, best of luck!

Tips & Tricks is a good board for new players.

After several Co-op vs AI games, go ahead and jump into PvP. Don't be worried about people screaming at you for messing up—that is an inevitability.

Don't buy tier 2 runes. Start saving IP at level 14 so you can buy a ton of tier 3 runes at level 20. Tier 1s are optional.

Last hitting: I suggest first playing an AD champ, to to avoid assassins and casters when new. When a melee minion is under your turret, you wait the turret to shoot twice, and then you hit. When a caster is under turret, you wait turret to shoot once, then you hit. You hit before the ray shoots the minion and then hit again after it hits if you lack AD.

Don't push the wave if you're a new player.

I feel that league would be more easier after you've played smite. I've never played smite though, but heard it is kinda similar?

I suggest that you watch many of the streams or videos online, and also read the wiki(already posted above) I like watching videos, and I really recommend watching- also, there's a meta for the game- when you are at level 1~7 no one really seems to care but it's best to know it in case someone toxic starts complaining at you and ruins the game.

Really, Riot just recently added the introduction AI feature, and it's great to practice with for beginners. I guess one intro AI game and 2~3 beginner AI games would get you ready for normal pvp mode.

It seems like there's really a lot of smurfs(secondary account holders) in lower-level normal games, but don't be stressed out when they go all crazy or boastful on you. They're the wrong ones, not you.

Have fun, summoner! :) P.S. Avoid turret-diving unless you're really sure! They hurt.

Am I the only one who thinks it's cool how quick we are to welcome new players to the Rift?
