Why does Riot wait an extra 2-3 days after an update to release a champion?
I've never understood it. I really want Rek'Sai. But I had to wait 13 Days for the update and now an extra 2-3 days to buy it? Why Riot Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

I think last time it was addressed it had to do with "Ensuring client stability before opening up new data clusters" or something like that. Basically it's just them making sure that letting people play the new champ won't completely murder the system. Like right now Kalista and J4 are currently disabled, so something clearly went wrong implementing the patch, so they wouldn't want to unload all of Rek'Sai's data and possibly cause more problems with the game.
Yeah, it's to ensure client stability which is ultimately the result of poor coding that somehow causes things to always break. Frankly I'd be surprised if something wasn't immediately disabled on day 1 or a new champ doesn't get disabled within a few days of release. The most appalling thing is that we have a PBE client which in theory is supposed to mirror the official client yet this happens every patch anyways. You know for the all the effort rito puts into making graphical updates and skins, sometimes I wish they'd just clean up the the game itself. Stuff like this and the fact that we're still using adobe air 5 years later is really unacceptable considering how big this company has grown.
Where did it say she was going to be released in a few days? I thought we'd just get her later today...
Want to know why? well lets take a journey back too season 2. Back in season 2 we got patches with new champs ~Every 2 weeks. The server always went down wednesday morning at 3am and was normally back live with patch by 6am. By about 8am the servers would be down crashed due to the mass of people trying to download the patch get on and play the new champ. The servers would always be down for somewhere for 12-48 hours and they would be laggy as shit the rest that week. That was back when LOL had a small fraction of the player base that it now does. So imagine the havoc it would cause if they still did things that way. Essentially it amounts to them making their player base ddos their game at the moment its most vulnerable to such an attack.
i feel your pain bro, i want her so much, ive even got everything but her jungle path down in my head, well ideas of them.
To ensure the champion got patched without any issues.
Unless you are Azir...
Thanks to all that commented! I never woulda thought that there would be more than 2 in 3 hours! I love the LoL Community
