with only 3GB of RAM, I'm gonna say you're bound to have a bad time. Since your getting it for free though go ahead and try to run it on the lowest settings anyway! Remember to run it off Ethernet if possible!
You will get minimal FPS on minimum settings, and team fights will more than likely make you drop to where you can't do much.
People say League can run on anything and those are the same people who complain that their FPS keeps dropping and then they come to the forums to blame RIOT like it's Riots fault that they have a shitty computer.
If you are going to try, at least play on ethernet. It won't help your FPS but it sure as hell is better than WI-FI or Wireless connection wise.
Just don't expect much performance to be very blunt xD.
You could just look at the minimum requirements to run this game, and then answer your question.
It runs windows vista?
I strongly recommend you fresh-install windows 7 or 10. Windows vista is literal garbage.
With 3Gb RAM it might struggle, so I would look into replacing that with more powerful card too.
Out of curiosity, how old is the laptop?

Google the tech specs, figure out the CPU/gpu and then read the minimum requirements for this game. You can accomplish this without a knowledge of computers. Laziness is equally troll.

If you really want to play this game you don't need to invest in an expensive computer. If you have access to a somewhat recent desktop with an PCI slot then for an investment of $150 in a graphics card could get you in the game. But you would have to conduct a little research on how to accomplish this.
damn that sucks i was looking to get atleast 60fps out of gameplay. Im on a pc right now and i get around 30 fps drops frames and lags
