How can you tell if you have mana?

i was playing katarina but my bar was empty and i could still use abilities

Theres a blue bar if you have mana, no bar if you're a spinner, a red bar if you're a zerker and a white bar if its a shield.

You look. Or you could keep track of ur mana usage and estimate
