Why aren't champion squares allowed to be Profile Icons?

I always wondered why we weren't aloud to have a champion-square as a Profile Icon on the League of Legends client, I think it'd be pretty cool to have a champion you really like to be your Profile Icon on the League of Legends client, it makes sense to me but not sure why Riot hasn't done this by now. Definitely would give the players opportunities to show who they love as a champion, and also see which icon is the least seen. :D

Anyone agree? Feel free to disagree aswell.

Just think it'd be cool to have a Gnarly new summoner icon, or just another eyecon

They should be "Champion Mastery" icons. If you master them, you get their icon. Alternatively, if you buy a skin of theirs, you can get an icon for that skin.

I think that any skin that normally costs 1,000 RP or more should come with an icon. Something simple but related to the skin itself. I would love to have an Arcade icon since I recently got Arcade MF, but I really don't not having one. It's just an extra that I like.

What I would really like instead of a Summoner Icon is for the champion's in-game icon to change as well. Mainly because some of the splash art is gorgeous!

They do use similar icons for some champs on the chinese server (i think?) and Lolking. I think it would be a great idea; maybe you would get the icon when you bought a champ? Or one of their skins?

Hmm, I like your idea, but that is way to broad for just a summoner icon. it would probably never happen. Cool idea tho!

Or you could have your icon match your name (like in my case).
