Can someone plz explain this to me? So frustrated

I admittedly don't play ranked games much. I often don't have time to play games longer than a few ARAM's at a time without being distracted by my kids. I only get to really play at night. I started the season in Bronze 2 and got to my silver promos 4 times. I can't recall one time where I played with another bronze or against another bronze. I get the ELO is similar and they are the next division up you will still play them. But I was a bronze 1 playing often against silver 1,2's and the occasional gold I thought a few times (been too long to remember) while getting only silver 5,4's on my team. I finally got promoted to silver on my 4th try. Now that I am in S5 I actually get more even teams than I ever did while in bronze. If my ELO is high enough to be playing with S1,2's then why am I bronze 1? Should either they be lower ranked or I higher? I am starting to play more rank lately but this is super frustrating. I play casually and for fun but having to go back up to promos 4 times is very very frustrating. I've been playing with higher ranked players lately in unranked games and realize my choice making is crap come mid game (like really bad. caught out of position all the time bad). So I know I suck really bad at a lot of levels. I just want to play similar ranked and skill leveled players to I. Is that too much to ask for? Someone please explain this to me. Thank you
