I understand that new players have it WAY worse but seriously, this is just dumb. I been playing since SEASON ONE and I STILL do not won all of the runes and champions, I'm not a great player I will grant anyone that but I have almost 2k wins and Im still no where near CLOSE to buying all the champs or rune. Okay, rant over.
I have all the champs but not all the runes, doesn't really make sense why you need to buy runes one at a time either instead of packs of 3/9
If they didn't require you to buy runes/champs/rune pages with IP then what incentive would you have for buying the IP boosts? F2P Games revolve around microtransactions to survive. They have to make your life difficult so that you have a reason to buy IP boosts because of your desire for more IP. Honestly, you don't even need all of the runes. A lot of them aren't even meta anymore/are hardly used. I've been playing since the beginning of S5 and I have addressed my rune needs LONG ago.
Obviously if they gave away all champs for free they would lose a significant amount of revenue.
Admittedly, I do have regular IP boosts that I earn from tournaments.
