New Champion hate

so im pretty new to league, and ive been browsing the boards for a while and im seeing a lot of hate for the newer champions, people mostly believing that they are too complex or "overloaded" and, while i get that one champion having a very diverse kit with a lot of utility while also being very strong IS a problem, honestly the newer champs are just far more interesting. believe me i wish that the kits of annie, or kat or alistar actually interested me, it would save me a lot of ip to get the champs i like, but really, watching some plays and guides, people like azir, yasuo, thresh and bruam just seem so much better to play

They seem better because they ARE better, and that's precisely the problem. These diverse, superior kits completely overshadow and outshine a vast majority of the champion pool. The only way the simpler, more binary kits can compete is if their numbers are astronomically buffed. This is a major problem from not only a "fun for the average player" standpoint, but also from a game design standpoint. I understand that many of these new champions are fun to play, fun to watch.

But as a game designer, it's difficult for me to just sit by and watch such a terrible workflow and horrid balancing practices coupled with very, very bad PR.
