Rune Page Improvements

I am sure there is a mixture of emotion regarding rune pages.

**Some will think 2 is enough to get to Challenger if you have enough skill. **

  • Those people have organised teams, only play one or two roles consistently, or maybe one or two champions, and so have an idealized rune page setup for their needs.

Some will think 10, 15, 20, x number is enough.

  • Fair deal, that's a valid point. For you personally that is enough rune pages. Maybe you can compromise with having a "nearly" ideal rune setup, like ad marks instead of attack speed marks on Skarner. Maybe you know when you go into a game, that no-one is going to ban out several of your champions you set up rune pages for prior, and force you into playing someone you don't have an ideal setup for. I get it, you're not a perfectionist. I am.

Here is my story. Let's see if anyone else can relate to me.

I bought 20 rune pages over time. I enjoy making perfect rune setups for every possibility, so I can just pick a champion and go "ah, those should be my masteries, and....there we go, that's my rune page for them. I feel confident that they're as strong as they can be at level 1. Bring the game on!"

Due to the nature of the current Rune Page setup however, this is often not possible.

I am stuck at an impasse.

I have the maximum amount of rune pages. I literally can throw RP, my saved-up 50k IP, or even my panties at Riot for days. It will make no difference, I literally cannot buy any more rune pages.

This isn't just a rant topic however, I have a few logical suggestions that may help Riot and us, the community, their customer base.

  • Allow people with 20 rune pages to edit their rune pages during champion select, just like mastery pages. The same risks will occur as they do with mastery pages; if you do not save in time, you will continue to use the last saved revision of your present rune page. This is a risk you will have to take, and presently take with masteries, so it will not make that much difference. (Plus, runes are less "important" than masteries % based results for specific roles). In this solution, only people with 20 rune pages would be able to edit them.

  • Refund people for their rune pages bought, and allow rune pages to be editable just like mastery pages. If people buy runes with hard earned IP, why should people then get an unfair advantage by spending RP (as well as IP which is spent on top of the IP for runes). This to me is less preferable, as it would take away from Riot's profits, and would probably not benefit them or us in the long term.

I am open to any other suggestions from Riot and the Community. These, I am sure, are just a few of the possible ideas which are open to discussion.

Please try to keep toxicity to a minimum; I know some of you think x number of rune pages is enough, and that's fine, I covered it in my bullet points, but there are a lot of people who are not you who feel editable rune pages would be a huge benefit to creating a more vibrant and reactive gaming experience for all Summoners.

summoner 6 TL;DR : Allow editable rune pages in champion select for either those with 20 rune pages OR for all people.

(and yes, I do not main on US, but this is the most noticed and responded-to forum, so I am here on a level 6 forum smurf to post)
