I main thresh, and want to play him a lot but its so hard to build up mastery on someone that is only utility, i sometimes get bored and want to do damage but thresh isnt very strong any other way. I just wanted to share this to see what other people think of maining supports and seeing what they do to try and build up mastery on them.
I recently hit level 7 with thresh (actually got 4 tokens in a row.) And really, it's not terribly hard if you actually give yourself to the support role. Damage is definitely not support thresh's strong point, his utility is insane though. Repositioning tools, slows, shields (lantern and locket), speed boosts (ancient coin or righteous glory) plus plenty of tankiness. Really, a 2/8/27 is not terrible, especially if your deaths kept your adc alive and fed
