Can you nice gentlemen, and ladies please clear up our confusion? Was league DDoS hacked, or full blown hacked? I have heard it was by the group known as PoodleCorp. Thanks, Marins

Poodle has claimed that they hit Riot. They are also LizardSquad from two years ago that nailed Riot hard.

a DDoS is not a hack.

Poodle isn't Lizard, they're two groups who've teamed up to perform bullshit.

It was a targeted DDoS attack on the servers not a hack. All account information is secure and server (stability) will be restored soon (tm).

You are not a Riot official, he clearly said a Riot official to comment on it. Since they're the only ones who actually know what happened. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I've done my research on what's happening and my sources are credible. Up to you to believe it or not.

DarkSunSovereign5 votes

Care to name those sources to increase your credibility?

Kürama1 votes

It's on the deep web. If you're unfamiliar with it and how to protect yourself from it, I don't suggest you go there.

Hello I am Bird2 votes

Forgive me for thinking that saying any of your sources come from the "Deep Web" make your claims very hard to believe...

Kürama1 votes

"Forgive you for thinking that saying"...lol.

If you don't believe me that's up to you. Up to you to brush up on your knowledge of the deep web.

Hello I am Bird2 votes

With my knowledge of the deep web I know that it's hard as hell to find anything worthwhile, much less something as specific as a hacker group that's probably just taking credit for this event.

Kürama1 votes

Then you need to brush up on it. The DDoS was real and they were the ones responsible.

If you are asking for a official to answer, don't you think they should focus on fixing the problem?

I know most of their officials are working on the problem, but there is some, that are probably aggravated, but are on the forums replying to people.

@mods, any idea on what happened?

BridgeKeep6 votes

FYI, you should be looking for a RED not a mod. Mods only help boards, not server issues. ;) Also, all the REDs are in the middle of fixing anything, so good luck finding an answer! [slayer-jinx-catface]

Poodlecorp was probably just taking credit. They make money by being popular and getting people to visit the poodlecorp site/follow on social media sites. If claiming to take down league servers gets more popularity, of course they're going to take credit.

Pretty sure Poodlecorp flooded the servers with spam, your passwords and accounts are fine, don't worry.
