How important is camping the enemy jungler as shaco?

I've been playing a ton of shaco lately in the jungle and have been seeing a lot of success as long as my teammates can at least go even or know how to rotate properly.

The thing is i rarely go for the super aggressive kill the enemy jungler strategy, almost always i'm more content to get my first clear and gank the lanes which usually results in a kill or at least a flash. This strategy has been really working for me since my pressure on the lanes is strong so early and imo it's the safer route in case an invade on the enemy jungler doesn't result in a kill or stolen buff.

my question is how viable is this strategy in higher elo's? I know that keeping the enemy jungler down is the most valuable way of keeping pressure off your lanes.

my problem is that everything i've seen on shaco pushes the 'cheese' strategy of killing the jungler level 2/3 and camping them so they can't get their farm.

TL;DR: do i need to learn to be aggressive on shaco and force pressure in the enemy jungle or can i get away with taking the safer route and just ganking lanes early and often?
