I believe the reason why (logic) is that historically skin names used to be tagged along with the champion name. It was "king pin twitch." Every twitch skin came that way. Until Emumu I think where they finally adapted to include the champion names into the skins more dynamically.

I called that skin Kitty Katarina all the way until legacy re-release of the skin lol
