Today, I Uninstalled League so I could get my priorities straight

****First of all, this isn't a "I hate LoL thread." In fact, I love League of Legends. It's a great video game that's kept me coming back for about 3 and years. **

I'll spare you guys my life story and get to the point.

The main reason why I uninstalled LoL is because it was getting in the way of real life responsibilities. I found myself playing when I should've been doing more important things (I'm a University student in my Junior year, so in this case, its homework and trying to figure out my future and that kinda stuff).

I would get home from class and say to myself, "alright, let's do some homework". However, what would really happen was I would open my laptop and say "Eh, one game of LoL wouldn't hurt," and 95% of the time, it did. I would end up playing so many more games instead and waste all of my study time. Long story short, I'd pretty much fall behind EVERY semester and bust my asss at the end of each in order to pass. I couldn't tell you how many painful all-nighters I've pulled.

And so my grades are not as good as I'd like them to be. (Just last week, I'm pretty sure I failed an exam.)

Today, I realized that my lack of self-control has fked me over the past 5-6 semesters.

And so today, I uninstalled LoL.

To my fellow summoners, don't screw up like I did. Do what you need to do in real life before you play.

Farewell, LoL. Maybe I'll come back when I get my sht together and get my priorities straight.

But until then, I'll be here grinding through these textbooks because I know I'm better than this.

Good luck on the Fields of Justice, summoners.

Lv 19 Magikarp, signing off. (Maybe I'll finally level up and evolve into Gyrados)

I think you should teach yourself self control instead of simply removing it. These habits will fuck you every where you go. You have to learn to control them not ignore them for it will repeat if you don't.

Edit - Oh my guys you really don't understand how addictive personalities can affect everything in a persons day to day life? I went through these same issues myself when I was younger and got a therapist for it. I'm speaking from experience not opinions.

I'm glad you're getting your priorities straight, I should probably do the same... But League is just so addicting >.>

Good luck, but quitting your hobbies to focus on your future could lead to other backlash happening. Just make sure you still take time for fun.

There's a reason that Canadian universities moved spring break to February, and I assure you it has nothing to do with Valentine's day.

I don't want to hear about you on the news as another university suicide... and not taking the time to relieve stress can lead to that.
