Growth of Esports?

I am doing a research report for my writing seminar and I need everyone's opinion. It would be great if you can answer the question: With the increasing popularity of e-sports, why are more and more people becoming fans of professional gaming teams in e-sports? I dons't have to be anything serious, just give your honest opinion. Thank you very much to everyone who helped me out.

A few opinions:

As computer technology becomes more important career-wise, the public is more accepting of "gamers", which allows more people to get involved with e-sports.
With increasing scandals in 'real' sports, people are still looking for the thrill of something with an uncertain/unpredictable outcome (sports are popular because upsets are possible) and e-sports can provide this. Alternatively, the professionals in sports are typecast as 'less intelligent' as numerous quotes by those in hockey/American football/basketball have shown to a large extent (soccer is less affected, and sports like tennis are actually largely indicative of a well educated playing population) - as people lose respect for competitors in other sports they may turn to e-sports.
As the video game industry develops, Games become more fast paced/interesting/complicated than 'real sports' and thus are more popular.
E-Sport content is easier to find for free online than other sports.
