Upgrading the Tribunal

This new automated ban service is just bad. It does not do its job and unjustly punishes and ignores actual misconduct. I just played a game where my team was toxic to me and i get a message in post game chat. it makes no sense. I used to use the tribunal and then it was taken away and all i have heard and seen is how the automated service doesn't work. Wasn't the tribunal supposed to come back? I've put too much time and money in this game to have some automated program give me warnings when I'm harassed in game. and that's because i try muting people as often as i can. I've witnessed friends get chat restrictions or ranked restrictions while not being toxic at all and only thing they say all game be tips on ability order and builds. This community is overflowing with toxic people yes, it always has. The tribunal should be brought back and actually have some incentive for people to judge and have their decisions saw through. By incentive i don't mean anything ridiculous that would make people use it for just the reward. something that doesn't help you in a way but maybe an icon or badge next to your name on forums. anything at all. I wouldn't even need a reward. Just knowing that i can get rid of some toxicity/trolls would be enough. 7 months have passed since the announcement of a new tribunal. I know there are people that don't care and just want to play the game, but there are a large number of people in the community that do care and want the tribunal to return.

My experience has been that the chat bans and warnings are highly accurate. Lyte's a numbers guy, through and through, which means that he wouldn't keep a system that was malfunctioning to any appreciable degree.

As always, if you feel that a ban or restriction was placed in error, please feel free to put in a support ticket. The people in Player Support are super awesome, even if they are a bit overworked.

This isn't helpful to your cause. If you think that Lyte is mismanaging the community, you should avoid personal attacks. I know that there have been times that I have strongly disagreed with him, but we were able to have an adult conversation because we treat each other with respect.

Chat restrictions are applied for a combination of frequency of behavior and intensity of behavior. If the game where you spoke Korean was a significant factor, you probably said something waaaaay over the line.

Assuming that the game you mention was actually a factor in your chat restrictions, you either said something highly offensive in that match (intensity) or it was part of a pattern of saying things you probably shouldn't have been saying (frequency).

You should consider that yelling at someone who is already playing poorly is akin to telling a child to "stop crying." It just doesn't work.

I had about 3 ranked games in a row where someone fed very heavily, especially after calling that specific lane. It wasn't simply a case of they had a bad day or they had a bad lane matchup but rather a case where the player repeatedly over extended or dived in a way that basically cost us the game. Of course I was unhappy, now I didn't start swearing until around 15 minutes when our mid lane was completely decimated. Before that I just gave advice about how he should probably turret hug so I could gank or so that he wouldn't die as often, but instead he kept standing right before range of the enemy turret. It was to the point of where I basically couldn't gank, because he was never there when I was available, or their mid was too strong for me to gank.

good. If he's playing fully retarded-ly you need to learn to a.) not make him play worse (weather or not you think that's possible) b.) not make him feel worse about himself for a fucking video game (weather or not you think that's justified is irrelevant) and c.) learn to stop having the mentality that all deaths are horrible. after hes 0/5 hes worthless in gold, persisting to be a douche beyond that only serves to be a horrible person, and ensure he will NEVER do anything REMOTELY good for the team.

I saw a post recently in which Lyte mentioned the new Tribunal. I don't think it is dead.

In the new Tribunal, players can review and vote on positive chat logs. If the players agree that someone was positive in their League matches, something neat happens in the client for the player.

another thing on this. Lyte says only 5% of players are punished. For this statistic he is using the number of accounts created in league, not the actual number of players. The actual figure is probably something like 20% or even more. I regularly see 2 or 3 people on my team chat restricted when I do the VG tournament.

Tribunal needs to come back.

He's stated before that the 5% statistic refers to active accounts, and accounts - to a large extent, at least - for smurfs (they're actually pretty good at recognizing smurfs and who they belong to).

Anything can be made to look good with some "creative accounting". I mean, its not like we get to see all of the internal numbers or anything lol.

This is backwards thinking. If there are more accounts than players, then even less players are actually being punished not more.

I also want to note that the in-client pop-up warning you refer to in your opening paragraph is part of the reporting system, not the chat restriction system. It's been around since well before the Tribunal was taken down (longer than I've been playing, for sure).

I couldn't agree more. I just received a two week ban after a game in which I was playing with 2 teammates who refused to work with the rest of us. After multiple requests for them to stop messing up our match, they began to tell us to kill ourselves and called us autistic. I said "ignore those retards, they're the reason we're gonna lose" and several hours later I received the ban. I'm about to uninstall because this is absolutely absurd

I was banned for 2 weeks after I called Teemo "Satan" and it was considerate "Extremely toxic behavior" after I was unbanned I was instantly muted for 15 games. This system is not what it should be...

Believe whatever you want. I talked to Riot and received the chat logs from the games where I was "toxic" and both of them I caused no infringement on the system. What I said in both games were things most people say. Another thing. This new "banning" system is used when player reforms have already been applied. In 3 years I had never received any warnings or emails from Riot telling me to change my way. I may have been toxic on the past but I changed so explain why I wasn't banned when I was toxic but I am banned when I actually motivate my team?

I talked to Riot and received the chat logs from the games where I was "toxic" and both of them I caused no infringement on the system.

You are not given logs of every game where you were toxic. You are given examples.

Also, you may wish to consider having someone else look at those logs with fresh eyes. It's possible that you're biased when it comes to your own behavior.

What I said in both games were things most people say.

Without having access to the logs, I can't say definitively, but I strongly suspect that this is untrue. Most people barely use the chat system at all and, when they do, they use it in a way that doesn't cause problems.

I seem to recall something in the preseason previews about Riot saying they were working on bringing the Tribunal back (although I may very well be wrong). Hopefully they haven't forgot about this objective :)

The report warning typically comes from games PRIOR to the one you're playing, not the one you get it after.

Well hopefully the Tribunal comes back and then no one can blame the system if they get banned anymore.

To bad you do not understand how the system works. So let me enlighten you.

IF you get reported you can and will (even when the tribunal comes back) can get the msg that you have been reported by players. This does not mean you are in trouble. But it is a warning overall that your behavior was found questionable by some players(that have good records).

At this point you are not in trouble or even in line to be reviewed(unless you get that msg alot).

If you are getting reported a lot the automated system checks certain things in the logs. IF it thinks their is a problem it is reviewed by RIOT PERSONAL for a ban.

So your complaint is this tread is prettys stupid and your stirring up the other idiots that refuse to read what has been posted by Lyte and the down time of the tribunal.

Tribunal is coming back but is doing a massive overhaul. It is coming back when it is ready. A in game msg does not mean you are getting a suspension. 14/ permas are reviewed by Riot personal IF people miss report a lot their reports have no value.

If you are going to make a thread on this stuff you would think you try to keep up on this information.

First off I'm an active player but not a big forums person. this is maybe my 2nd thread EVER so stop with the criticism. Not everyone has to be an active forum member to play League of Legends. If you're going to make several posts on a thread, especially about the tribunal and toxicity, you might want to refrain from insults saying people are stupid and idiots.

So your complaint is this tread is prettys stupid and your stirring up the other idiots that refuse to read what has been posted by Lyte and the down time of the tribunal.

also the point of this thread was simply to just be a thread on the forums stating that there hasn't been any MAJOR announcement about the tribunal in 7 months that I know of besides the leaver buster, that has had a HUGE negative opinion from the community, and small messages on different threads.

I see why you are getting reported. You make an ass out of your self and blame others,

Try using the red tracker and follow what has been going on. Search LYTE to narrow things down. If you are going to come to compalin about something you and say WOE is me you should do some looking. Hell a google search would of pointed you in the right direction.

Getting a warning does nothing to you, even if the tribunal is running you will still get that message if you get mass reported in a game. If you dont get massly reported in a series of games that warning really does absolutely nothing to you other than hurt your ego a bit. If that still concern you, well... just get over it.
