Gaming Computers?

I'm thinking of buying a Gaming rig from someone for $150. Specs:

  • Corsair 2gb DDR3 Ram x2
  • Nvidia Nforce 680i sli Motherboard
  • Nvidia Geforce 8800gtx graphics card
  • WD 1 TB hard disk drive
  • Cooler master 1000w power supply
  • 2 DVD drives
  • 4 120mm led cooling fans

Is that a good steal for the price? What should I change?

Head over to r/buildapc, those guys tend to know computers and computer parts pretty well.

I'd need specs on the motherboard and the CPU.

If the CPU is an Intel i3/5/7 or an AMD FX whatever, fuck yes

Intel Core 2 Duo, sure

AMD Phenom whatever, sure

but AMD Athlon or an Intel Pentium, hell no

EDIT:

Wasn't sure about the nVidia motherboard but I looked it up.

It's an Intel motherboard that has nVidia as the chipset maker and it's a part of the FSB

BUT that's just for the model that I happened to find, which it supports Intel Core 2

so overall, it's a moderately good deal

"Moderately" because it's three generations behind
