The shameless sexism of the Assassin Rework
Greetings Summoners!
As I am sure all of you are aware, the assassin rework is coming soon. And, while at first glance, it may appear that the ladies of league are (finally) receiving equal treatment, let me tell you something none of us want to hear: They are not. Let me start with most obvious example that cannot be denied by even the most die hard conservatives: LeBlanc.
LeBlanc isn't allowed to use blades like her male counterparts, nor is she allowed to do anything psychical that even remotely resembles strength. She relies on deception and deceit, furthering the sexist but all too common stereotype that women are naturally liars. Not only that, but why is she not allowed to wear clothes? You don't see Zed running around in a speedo with a visible bulge, and yet LeBlanc can run around in lingerie? And it gets worse: She splits into clones of herself, so there are versions of herself running around without freewill or thought. Does it get more objectified than that? Now, you be desperately trying to justified this sexism by pointing out that Zed makes shadows, but that is all they are: shadows. He is strong, and we are all just living in fear of his mere shadow. LeBlanc creates objectified clones, fulfilling people's fantasies of a 3-some maybe?
Now, if LeBlanc were the only example of sexism in the assassin rework, maybe we could let it slide. But sadly, this is not the case. Let's move on to Katarina. Ignoring the ridiculous fact she is half naked in melee combat, she isn't allowed to roam and dominate the map like Talon or Rengar. No, she is expected to stay in her place in the mid lane, and if she doesn't care for her home correctly, she is for some reason useless when her male counterparts can always come back.
Not to mention Evenlyn doesn't get even a slight rework, not even one to give her SOMETHING to wear other than a cheap BDSM smurfette outfit.
