The answer is nothing. If you don't finish gold or above, you don't get rewards. It's that simple. Doesn't matter if you're 5 man, solo, duo, or your mom is playing for you. If you don't hit gold, you don't get anything.

That does not mean that I won't play ranked this season nor that will I give up rewards out of spite.

ModWulf Helhammer1 votesNo idea what you are talking about with Facebook and Twitter, Reddit is the same as the boards, pro players haven't said anything since Riot added tougher restrictions for premades, YouTubers are also pretty split on it.
And still, none of that was evidence, purely anecdotal. Burden of proof is on you -- you google it and show me.
