LeagueAnalyzer: a rank analysis tool that helps to define what type of player you are

I hope I am posting in the correct place... summoner 4

Currently, there are a lot of league rank web apps, for example op.gg and lolking. Although they can help a lot in checking details of your match history, I believe they fail to analyze your rank games' data and compare this data with other players in the same tier. I just developed a web app which can analyze your most recent 10 rank games (the current api key prevents me from analyzing more matches...), generate a player ability graph and compare your rank details with those of other players, for example your KDA, your kill contribution and so on. With the help of this web app, I think players can improve their game performance by knowing their deficiency, for example vision control or objective control. summoner 6

Currently, I am still using the development API keys of mine and my co worker. As a result, the web app may crash if too many people use it at the same time... If an error shows up, please give it a retry after 10 seconds; I believe it will work then! Taric

It would be a great support if you can test the web app and give me some advice! Thanks for reading! {{summoner:17}}

Retrieving a players LOL info is probably a "GET" call instead of a "POST", you even named the function getXXXX lol.

Still have debugging console logs.

Obfuscate your js, p

Probably set to use html 5 mode in angular (works well with node apps too, so you dont' have that awkward /#/path

from a UX perspective, wait times that are obviously faked are annoying af, get rid of those.

Add more interactivity to the graph tied in with the data to the right, I.E. when i hover over kda, it highlights what factors affect my KDA, etc..

UI: the layout is absolute, hence that guys problem with resolution. Mobile optimized is the must-have nowadays as well.

Add the basic back/forth functionallities, multie search queries, and the ability to add more people to the chart (differed by colors, add some hover effects to emphasize the focus of which ID)

Go back farther than 10 days, probably an api limit to that but too lazy to read those.

Overall feels nice, quick. Not too flashy but def could use some ui/ux enhancements. No idea your architecture in your node project so no comment there.

Dude your comment is so comprehensive and helpful...I hope I could give you +100 likes! Thank you very much!

Refreshing the stats page gives you the angular template, I'd recommend have a url structure like... /stats/:summonerName (if summoner name is unique) /stats?summonerName=foo (here is more of a query, probably more suitable) This way, you can preserve the states (and for future "share" capabilities, social media already is big so..why not have some sharing aspect ;) )

xPLzzZx1 votes

Oh yeah you are right! I will fix this asap! As for sharing, do you think I should have a database which temporarily stores people's data?

neoYEET1 votes

Temporarily storing people's data just means you're caching the same data from lol/api. This is ok, but I think your bigger concern with social sharing is if the crawlers are smart enough for async data. Most commonly method to share is through data that is returned on page-load from the server (og:data type stuff). I'm not completely sure, you can do that research but I'm guessing with the wave of angular-esque websites, they'll at least need to be accommodating later. In the meantime, you'd have to have a little bit of logic to render server side if the request comes directly (let's say I share /stats?summonerName=me, this should return a page with all the necessary sharing information). Another workaround is to have a "badge" implementation on which you just create a share page specifically for returning og tags so that facebook/twitter/google picks up the metadata.

I will definitely do some research about this!

Could not read the bottom two statistics.

Thanks! I will make them more noticeable asap!

I had a weird problem. I was running my 3200x1800 monitor in 1080p with 150% windows scaling, and it didn't center properly on Firefox or Chrome. It worked fine when I used 100% windows scaling. I switched back to 3200x1800 with 200% scaling to see if it became even more decentered/hard to see, but it worked fine (usually when I have these problems, it gets worse).

Really weird.

xPLzzZx1 votes

Yea it sounds weird... I will look into it! Do you have any other advice for this app?

disregardable2 votes

Skip the intro on the first page. Otherwise, seems functional. You should make a post in League's reddit if you haven't. It'll get more attention there.

Thanks! I will do that after I fixed all the problems mentioned in this forum!

Pretty cool!

I think 10 games isn't quite enough of a sample. I've got an 80% win rate over my last 10 ranked games - makes my stats all look pretty amazing.

Where does battle efficiency come from? I can see all of the other stats in the breakdown, but not this one. It (alongside kill contribution) are the only two I'm average in (well above average in the others) so I'm genuinely curious.

Are the adjacent rankings adjusted for role played? Maybe it'd be worthwhile adding a way to break it down. E.g. look at my last 10 (or 20) top / adc / mid / jg / supp games. So you can see which roles you're doing well in as well.

May also be worthwhile seeing some scroll-ability. My "vision control" score is almost double the division higher than me, so what is it actually like? Diamond? Challenger? Likewise my target control is 50% higher than the division above me.

I like the interface though. It looks pretty cool. Should CS be somewhere on it?

xPLzzZx1 votes

Thanks! I forget to note it on the app that battle efficiency is a formula roughly like (adamagedealtToChampions + bdamageReceived + chealing + dCCduration)/goldEarned; the actual formula is far more complicated... However, I don't like it now because it fails to differentiate clearly good players and bad players. I will work more on improving the formula!

I like the role played idea very much! I thought about it at the beginning of the development. If everything about the current general analysis goes well, I will definitely create analysis based on roles played!

the scroll-ability makes a lot of sense to me. Ummm, I will figure out a solution to this asap.

Yea definitely! I am planning to add Farming as a new property to the main star graph.

Thank you very much again for your advice dude!Ziggs

I realized that it was only NA so I tried it using my NA smurfs (One Silver and another Diamond 2). Says my Silver 2 account is below average with a 100% winrate and KDA of 5.0, average warding of 16 sight and 2 pinks. My diamond registers as "Plat" with a average of 80% wins and KDA of 3.0 with 20 sight wards and 4 pinks. Seems like the system is a little wonky but it works relatively close.

P.s. This is the account I use to play with my husband MrSandDragon whom is from EUW and Gold ranked. (To keep him from getting stomped in Normal pubs.

xPLzzZx1 votes

What do you mean by below average? It would be nice if you could give me the names of your 2 accounts so that I can look into what's wrong. Thanks!

ƒoes2 votes

Says my it failed to get my ranked info. Probably because I haven't played ranked this season?

xPLzzZx1 votes

Yea currently the app can only analyze the ranked info for this season.

Angry Monster2 votes

So your terms are awkward. By target control i think you mean neutral objectives and i have no clue what battle efficiency is since i am not getting any stats for it.

Overall i would say that this is not a very accurate system. I am not sure if it is only pulling rank data or what, but i have not played mid at all this season yet in 10 games it is pulling mid data. If I tri Q, the midlaner and I take jungle mid and mid jungle respectively (our 3rd takes to other roles) and if it is just a duo Q i take jungle then Top. I never actually mid lane in rank.

Also your system is geared way to heavily to ADCs. As a tank player i am almost never going to get the last on a tower, so i do not get credit. Same thing with herald, i am usually there helping take the damn thing, but i am the one tanking so normally i do not get the last hit. As jungler it is a waste to smite the dragon or Barron if we have it free and clear.

5/7 for effort but the end product is not telling the real story.

xPLzzZx1 votes

You are right..I will change my terms. As for accurateness, all my data are taken from riot API. I will look into this issue. For the neutral objectives control, I think for towers and inhibitors you will get +1 if you get the tower or inhibitor experience; as for the heralds and dragons, they are team properties, which means that you can get +1 even if you don't participate in killing them.

Smash That F Key1 votes

we are working on balancing the tank players' stats in the following few days. battle efficieny's goal is to give you a overall weighted performance ranking for the 10 past games. the calculation of B-efficiency is based on a complex formula, we will keep on refining the formula as times goes on based on players comments. So, thanks for the commentsDraven. tank players deserve more attention!!!!

Angry Monster1 votes

I am not sure how i feel about battle efficient part. Certain classes tank and supports are not supposed to be doing big damage. Wouldnt their efficiency numbers be low by default?

I am totally down with things like KDA since that is a fair stat (cause of the assist part). Things like battle efficiency is like the letter grades a little to ridge and does not tell a great story.

Why not a stat that shows how much damage i tanked out for my team? That would be a true battle efficiency for me. I get ADCs are about doing the damage and they should be judge on that, its just not every players job to deal 50k.

I ran my name again and saw the player average web changed, which is interesting. You must be getting new data.

xPLzzZx1 votes

Thanks for the feedback! We usually reanalyze tiers' data by randomly selecting player samples every week. As for the battle efficiency, we would like this value to be more general, which means that different stats will be scaled based on the positions you played. For example, if an adc deals a lot of damage, it can make his battle efficiency bigger; however, if he receives a lot of damage, it won't change battle efficiency a lot. Currently, instead of only having the general analysis page, we are planning to have analysis pages based on the roles. For example, in the adc analysis page you can see stats like gold per min and damage dealt to champions, while in the top analysis page you can see stats like damage taken.

Arytheus2 votes

What do you mean by silver/gold? Do you mean in general all the silver gold elo averaged? Or do you mean a specific division of silver or gold?

xPLzzZx1 votes

It is supposed to mean silver/gold tiers.

Arytheus1 votes

So when you have it as gold/silver with all the data by it, is that data an average of all the divisions within that tier or a specific tier?

xPLzzZx1 votes

uhh, that data is an average of all the divisions within that tier, and it is calculated by analyzing random player samples from divisions under within tier.

This is pretty cool, between you and me, regarding the aesthetics i enjoy it. If anything don't change the look. (didn't know if you ARE planning to change the look but tbh looks sick) And information wise its great, simple and to the point. is it accurate? i got no idea, but just being able to look at my stats helps me improve.

xPLzzZx1 votes

I am planning to change the look later because I have trouble finding a UI/UX guy... currently I will work on the functionality and hope that people won't be too sick looking at the current UI...

warpenguin5552 votes

This looks so cool. It looks like it works fine on my phone I'll try it on my laptop as well when I get home. I'll give more feedback too

xPLzzZx1 votes

I look forward to it! Thanks dude!

Sr Jecht2 votes

I really like this!. As a mid laner, this is a very useful tool I can use to see how I stack up. Shows me exactly what I need to pay more attention to in games.

Quick suggestions.

  1. Under the graph (bottom left) maybe put exactly what each category is comprised of. "Battle efficiency" isn't really a clear stat. Is this similar to KDA, kill contributions we have no idea. So just give a brief description of each one. (Remember keep it at a 6th grade level so even college graduates can understand ;p)
  2. The OCD in me, has to ask to put "you" at the top of the column of your stats. You have labels for the other two but not that one.
xPLzzZx1 votes

I just realized my team played against your team in the GT gamefest lol...

  1. I will definitely improve this one! I am planning to add battle efficiency and its related stats to the table on the right, and maybe hovering over those big stats(KDA, killcontribution and so on) can show a rough formula.

  2. It has been added!

Thanks a lot dude!

Randomonium2 votes

Very awesome app. Like others have said I'd provide more clarity on what the different categories mean (target control and battle efficiency in particular.)

I'd also take another look at your assessments. I'm a silver 5 player and it rates me as "challenger" for KDA and kill participation which seems a bit off.

Can't wait to see how it improves in the future. I'll be checking it out regularly!

xPLzzZx1 votes

Thanks! It rates you as challenger because your stats are higher than the challenger players' average stats. In my opinion, if you can keep all of your assessments to be challenger for some time, you can be a challenger sooner or later.

Really useful to improve my performance. Would be better with cooler graphics Swain !

Will do!

awesome app!

YAY!

RedBlud2 votes

challenger in all but vision :^) which is weird as wards killed is on average, placed is way above average but wards bought is to low i assume

xPLzzZx1 votes

Currently, the vision control is mostly related to the number of vision wards a player buys in the game. In the future, we may also make wards killed and wards placed more important; it depends on how relative these 2 values and winnings are.
