Chromas, runes, and Riot Games

It seems that the majority of the boards has forgotten one simple thing, Riot Games is a company. What do companies want? Money. Plain and simple. There will never be a time when chromas or runes are free, there is just no monetary value in handing those things out.

The current argument is that chromas should be a reward for champion mastery but guess what? Riot gets no money if they do that. There is no reason for them to give out free stuff that won't lead to an eventual monetary gain. Look at Refer a Friend, this is incentivizing players to advertise for Riot and bring more potential customers in. This is a smart business venture. Riot gets more customers, players get some skins, everyone's happy. Let's look at that in the light of chromas. Player gets a skin, Riot gets jack shit, Riot slinks off to a corner no nerfs Irelia.

Same goes for runes. Riot would loose out on the income of ip boosts if runes were made free, so it makes no sense to make them free.

You need to understand the situation from Riot's perspective. They have thousands of people they need to pay and still turn up a profit. What's the best way to do that? Not give free shit away for no reason.

i still think they should make chromas more diverse with color customization

but really if u think about it, that prevents them for releasing future chromas... for that one guy who wanted a pink lucian but instead has to settle for red
