Taking the High Road
I'm getting really bothered by these posts that essentially keep saying, "No matter how belligerently awful people are during your game, you need to just ignore it and accept it. Just say GG man. Be the bigger person."
Now, I don't think arguing with someone or feeding into the negativity is any better (in fact it's worse) but turning the other cheek just isn't an effective way to challenge the behavior that is running rampant in League.
I get especially annoyed when people tell me, "It's just ARAM, or it's just hexakill (for example). If I'm playing something chill like that, I want to have fun. I don't care what game mode it is: if you are ruining the experience for other people you should be reprimanded. What kind of message are we sending when we just "accept" toxic behavior. Every time someone says, "That's just League, you're going to run into toxic players, you just gotta roll with it" it perpetuates the terrible environment that is League of Legends. I'm tired of this "boys will be boys" attitude the community is accepting. Enough's enough. I don't want to just accept this toxic behavior anymore.
Sorry for the rant, and for not proposing tangible solutions. And I'm prepared to be downvoted into oblivion. It just seems like every other game somebody is being a douche and nothing ever changes. And every time someone complains they're just told to quit whining. (Which I'm sure I'll be told to do.)
