Why Bronze is difficult

Many high elo players and even some silver league players constantly bash bronze players on a regular basis. This has led me to contemplate this matter and create a discussion on it.

Before i get roasted by the responses from the community i must state explicitly i do not claim to be the best, i have had good games where i do good and carry. I also have games where i do bad and end up getting carried as well. There are also games where i do terrible and the team does terrible.

As a bronze player myself, i have embraced what being in bronze means. It means i have a lot to learn about game mechanics, play styles, items, specific champion builds and so on. I do not and will not say i am the greatest player but being in bronze does not mean you are the worst player either. If i was not in bronze and experienced it i would have probably been like everyone else and laugh at bronze too as well as criticize their "noobness" and lack of ability to carry themselves out but there are a few factors keeping players in bronze which i find unfair. This has gotten to a point where i have taken my personal computer to work and purchased a portable internet modem just to play this game.

I'm not here to whine, i'm only here to try to get higher level players to understand what we go through on a regular basis.

  1. Stats- none of us think we belong in challenger, the skilled ones among us believe we deserve better players and a better playing field to play at our true potential. The stats at the end of a game does not depict the true skill of the player. Personally when my team is losing i try to be in every team fight which doesn't always work to my favor as i may end up dying (this doesn't help the situation but i try just the same) i have met players that do the same and while watching them in game i can conclude this person is skilled with that champ but how many games can we and other like us carry on our own ?. If i "rekt" my lane it doesn't mean i can still carry based on the fact that there are four other roles and if my team has fed in at least 3 of those roles i simply cannot as the only fed person fight and win against the 2 or 3 fed enemy.

  2. Bad bans- Due to the inexperience of some players they make terrible bans. This inexperience causes in fighting in the team from the champ select especially if the enemy team picks a juggernaut or a champion that was a MUST BAN in low elos. This means the team is going into the match demoralized therefore they have already lost the mental aspect of the match.

  3. Constant trolls- (This is my personal experience and has happened many times out of series and in series) I entered into champ select while in series and i am presuming the perpetrator was a child as i only expect this type of childish behavior from children. He simply said he is here to keep everyone in bronze at the last moment which was too late for anyone to dodge. He proceeded to join the game and fed the entire time.

  4. Deliberate AFK's- while i have faced this a few times it hasn't been that much. A player may be making constant mistakes and you try to help by giving advice and suddenly he turns caps-lock on and unleashes a barrage of curse words before explicitly stating he is going afk then leaves the team to 4v5. Some will blatantly disconnect while others will move around in the base to not get leaver buster.

5.Plain Unskilled- plain unskilled players mess the game up for decent players. They come in ranked without proper masteries or runes, not knowing if their champion is ad or ap, not knowing what to build based on the type of champion being used.

  1. Shot calling- I am not the best shot caller but i can tell a bad call when i see one. Infuriatingly my team always chooses the bad ones and end up pulling the entire team into an unwanted team fight. I usually go along with the hopes that whatever skill i have i could make a difference and turn that bad call into a positive thing. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, luck of the draw.

There may be more that i haven't said but this will be it for now, any comments critiques appreciated. I always look for positivity to help with improving my own game play.

Im not bronze, but i www s there for a while most of this season and i spent roughly all summer fighting my way from bronze 4 to silver 5 and recently i got to silver 4. What ive experienced though is that bronze player or rather more specifically new players dont have a wide range of knowledge when it comes to mechanics. It is a massive hinderance also when in ranked they are forced into a role that they didnt know how to play. I personally had this problem because i had spent most of my time on league just playing one champion. If you look at my profile itll be obvious who. Since i have 400k+ mastery points on him. Anyways a few months ago i started playing nearly pure rank magches and through them i was forced into roles i wasnt good at but i took up tge mantle of the noob support noob adc and noob jungler eventually becoming fairly competant in those roles while already being a decent toplaner. Mid im still having trouble with but ive earned lvl 5 mastery on champs for various roles and im not saying im a mast at those champs. Im competant. The thing im trying to say is that bronze players are bronze mostly because of lack of experience but of course there are other factors such as trolls afks poor connection poorly skilled teammates and one that is nearly as influential as experience is attitude. Besides experience,attitude is a massive game changer. I used to play with a guy who was downright a better player than me but i always outperformed him because of the simple fact that he always carried a negative attitude. Hed ignore his team and refused to work with them because he would statt cursing st them for every little mistake and he overemphasized objectives. At the time our group was performing really well winning roughly 75% of our games and that was because we understood him and let him make the calls. Wed line up like pawns and well we worked really well together because each and everyone of us conceded that he was the best shotcaller and had the most experience. But when id talk to him hed always complain about matches when he wasnt with us saying his teammates were idiots and didnt know how to focus. What i have told him is that he needs to learn to wkrk with others and he cant expect them all to concede to his will. All in all he has quit the game since and in my honest opinion he was held down by his inability to work with a team and rather needed a team to work with him. It is these kind of things that keep people in bronze and sooner or later ppl will either learn or deteriorate into what many refer to as elo hell

I think biggest problem is bronze is that people constantly refuse to improve and change. Worst thing that can happen to bronze is to stomp someone worse than him when he starts playing. He will actually think he is very good. Another thing is, even tho they are mechanically not very good, they will still pick mechanically difficult champions just because they think those champions are OP like Yasuo, Fiora, Riven, Katarina, Darius or GOD FORBID VAYNE(watch some bronzies try to play vayne, u will cry laughing).

If you want to carry yourself out of bronze, u pick champions like Amumu, Sejuani, Rammus, Malphite. Yes they may look boring to you, but opponents will have low experience in fighting them, thus giving u advantage. For example, you got 14:25 score with Yasuo. 3:8 average score per game,120 cs. Now ask yourself, why do you keep picking Yasuo if he obviously doesnt work for you. Try different things. Go try Morgana mid, try Morgana support. Try Poppy top(Trust me, she is noob wrecker), try Yorick, try Mundo. There is bigger chance your opponent have more experiencing in fighting Yasuo, Fiora, Riven than they would have fighting Galio, Malzahar. Just stop picking difficult to play champions, it will be satisfrying winning with them but u will lose more games with them than win.

well i can't understand bronze that much, the lowest elo i've ever been was bronze 1 in season 4 after my placements, this was also my first season of playing ranked. I won every match after placements and ranked up to silver 5, by the end of season i'd hit gold 5. This season i placed in gold 5 and have ended in a comfortable plat 3. For season 6 i plan on picking marksman back up as my main role and going for diamond. Now there's one thing i will say, I'VE PLAYED A LOT OF LEAGUE, like for 5-6 straight hours every weekday and all day on the weekends league used to my life. However from what i've seen in bronze the main reason people can't carry themselves out of their elo is lack of experience, they don't know how to carry and end their games because most of them haven't played enough to know how to do so. This mixed with the trolls and afks (like you mentioned) makes climbing in bronze and silver very difficult. I remember seeing one post about a rammus only player a while back who intentionally fed very game in bronze 5 and would sometimes rack up over 100 deaths a game (and he even won one of those games once). Due to this lack of experience plus the toxic players that are much more vocal than others bronze gets a much worse rap than it deserves. Only advice i can give is mute toxic players, ignore rage(criticism is fine but insults dont help anything), and just work on YOUR gameplay. I had over 1000 games won played before i every played a ranked game and now im coming up on 3000 (somewhere between 5k and 6k played total i think) so there's really no rush to improve.

You know what I hate about being in bronze, whenever talking about bronze, higher elo's always group everyone into the same bag. As though we are ALL shit and every single person doesn't do certain things.

Why bother. The game is supposed to be fun, but the ranked system is stupid and not fun; mostly due to the folks you will be paired with and against. Either it is a push over, or your team.

After the plays I made in ranked a few days ago..

#I Diserve to be in bronze... xD

Now that I look back I realize I was bad.. but.. WOW... I MADE SOME REALLY BAD CHOICES!

I leashed the enemy team a baron.. xD! Hhahahaha.. Ho gosh.. i almost soloed it thinking they were keeping them busy at their second turret midlane.. but I WAS SOO WRONG to assume their whole team was defending...

What I did belongs in one of those Bronze 5 adventures videos..

winning or promoting is a numbers game. its basic math. there are 4 other players on your team. there are 5 players on the enemy team. that means there are 5 chances for bad players/trolls on the other team each game and only 4 on yours. 5 to 4 = its a 55.5% chance the enemy team has the worst player in the game.

since the other team usually has the worst player, if you are better than the average player in your league you will win more than you lose and will eventually promote. if you cant promote then you are not better than the average and you do not deserve to promote. it is basic math.
