More transparency from Riot about "recent issues"

So currently the server isn't even responding for me when I try to log in. For hours everyone trying to log into NA is sitting in queue for hours and ranked is also disabled when you FINALLY get into the client. Apparently there's an aatrox bug too. What happening right now? DDOS? Patch bugs?

I'm really confused and I would really appreciate a more detailed explanation from Riot about WHY these issues are happening and estimated fix times (if possible). I guess I'm just looking for more transparency from Riot about these technical issues. I know a lot is happening and I trust that they're doing all they can, but I think I can speak from most of the community when I say that we would like to know and better understand why these issues are occurring.
