win streaks/losing streaks problem with ranked?

This may only be a problem I am facing, but was just wondering if anyone else is running into this same thing.

It seems to me that the ranking system must be flawed. I was on a very long losing streak, and was very pleasantly surprised I was not demoted from gold to silver(as this happened to me last season). Then I go on a winning streak and I am now in promo to gold 3.

It does not seem right to me that in ranked I was so close to being demoted to silver and now I am in the heart of gold. Especially when ranked is supposed to be a reflection of your skill.

Am I silver one day and gold the next? I don't believe so.

Does anyone else have problems with streaks jumping you up and down the ranked totem pole?

It is ranked in a nut shell. U had bad games and bad teams then magically u had good games and good teams.

it has to do with they're balancing system which is total bull shit for deciding how good a player is.. ie: you lose enough games in a row u will get placed with players currently winning. on the flip side those players currently winning will get more players on a losing streak to play with.

Ranked has more to do with trying to get people stuck in a 50/50 win loss ratio then actually finding out how good you are. and because of that you will find players of all skill types mixed throughout different tiers.

this being said, of course the best players and also at times most fortunate to have good winning streaks will be promoted along with those that are not so good.

You figured out that being happy about winning makes you play better and being sad about losing makes you play worse.

Congratulations!

When I lose 2 in a row, i take a break. I think frustration comes in and you just play bad. I just not to queue up more than 2 consecutive times without a break. I've manage to beat the odds so far, keeping my win % between 60-61 and slowing pulling myself up from b5.

It averages out provided you don't put yourself on tilt.
