Owning all the champions w/ hextech is stupid

I like how if you own all the champions and you do hextech you can still get champion shards and trade them up for permanent shards that do nothing! c'mon riot, like at least let us trade them up up for orange essence or trade them up for skin shards. it's bogus getting shards that i can't do anything with, the only thing it will be good for is if there is a new champion that comes out but other than every 3-4 months they just collect dust and keep wasting my time opening the hextech boxes
