I would like to take a moment to honor a fallen comrade.
Recently I have been taking up playing Destiny once again, and I haven't played since maybe August when House of Wolves was still the thing. Not a week ago I logged in and what my eyes saw made me cry a little...
My prized heavy weapon of choice, the only rocket launcher that I had for the longest time, The Gjallarhorn, was left behind and not allowed to be included in the Taken King release. This wounded me as this weapon was brought to us by the Destiny crack dealer Xur on week 2 of the game, and I bought it. Those 17 strange coins were the best curreny I spent, as it was basically the ticket to raids and high level gear early on. I was one of the few who actually owned one. Just look at this beautiful monster: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/destinypedia/images/8/80/Gjallarhorn_Mark_Van_Haitsma.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150821234008
This weapon was basically a Torgue machine, firing a single high powered tracking rocket that when exploded on contact, became 8 smaller more high powered tracking rockets. It was glorious. It made bosses tremble and quake. I can understand why it was chosen as it is the Deus Ex Machina of all Deus Ex Machina. We had a whole raid team with them and we dropped the hardest current boss at the time in 20 seconds flat.

I will remember you my old friend.
RIP Gjallarhorn 2014-2015
