serious note:

While your support is certainly not your "ward bitch" and its not solely the supports job to ward, that does NOT mean you can forgo a item 2049. This item is a MUST for supports. Hell, Riot even gave us THESE item 2303 item 2302 item 2301 to make life easier for us. You should have no excuse not to get one. As stated previously while it is not solely the supports job to ward (Its EVERYONE on your team's job), it is the supports job to keep vision control. Another primary reason to get item 2049 and its upgrades is so you can get THESE item 3341 item 3364 to keep vision control. Denying enemies vision is VERY important to do WHENEVER possible. This can mean the difference whether or not your jungler has a successful mid gank or not, and if your mid laner can escape a gank from the enemy jungler.

Agreed! Worse is when they complain to adcs to ward. Once had a lux yelling at me to get the sightstone when I shouldn't be having that item! Want me to ward? Sure, but you're HALF the team's vision!

When I support, I literally rush that if I back with 800 gold. Heck, vision>Support item upgrade in my opinion.

Don't care if I get less gold early game because of it. Gold doesn't mean anything if we get killed by that Godyr for the 2nd time.

Sometimes having sightstone is a good idea in case you want to place a quick one at drake.

My problem is not the sight stone, my problem is they took away the trinket that gave us options that didnt require wasting a slot for vision. They added the trinket slot in the first place to give supports the free space.

The claim that "supports definitely need a sightstone" probably shouldn't be talked about as though it is on the same scale that "junglers definitely need smite". One is actually mandatory to be relevant while the other is most certainly optional. I won't talk smack at my support without a Sightstone as long as the support is getting results.
