EA is the big mother fcker of screwed up game companies. might be different now but from what i remember they would destroy a games reputation for a quick buck, force the designers to rush the next game so they could slap a price tag on it just like slappin their own greedy dicks

I think people conflate "listening to" with "obeying", which is why people get the idea they're not listening. Riot's probably the company that isn't a singular indie dev when it comes to actually conversing with its playerbase on a regular basis. But it's precisely because of this knowledge that people get the idea that if they complain loud enough, the change they want will happen, because Riot will hear. And honestly, they do - but they're not the only voice being heard.

Yeah Riot is a lot better than most at listening. They do a pretty good job more often than not.

They also ruined Dawngate.

The game was pretty good, but what made it special was the focus on lore, and the amazing community.

EA was financing a fantastic team of developers (Waystone Games) who were about to release the 1.0 of the game, the big big official release after 2 years in Beta.

The update was ready, suddenly:

"We're sorry, Dawngate didnt bring us much cash as expected. We're now closing it, completly ignoring the fact that it could bring tons of money after being officialy released, and you cant say anything about it since we finance that game" - EA

I never played any EA game before, but heard their reputation. One of my friend was tempted to play it, but refused when I told him EA was implicated.

It seems he was right...

Odd that the paying customers are hitting the pirates.

I'd imagine that EA would hit the customer and then the pirate would offer the customer something while hitting EA while at the same time, EA is hitting the customer again for accepting the "something".

EA really hates their customers.

I tend to visit the HotStorm forums every once in a while to check if it's worth getting back into the game. You're lucky if you see one, two Blizzard posts a month there, and then most of the time it's about in-game purchases. I've seen several threads there were they beg Blizzard to be as active as Riot is on their forums, so I'd say we're pretty well off.

I'm not saying riot does a bad job at listening to their players(in fact they listen to them quite a lot),but comparing a company to EA is like comparing a champion to rengar, yeah, rengar is more obnoxious, but that really doesn't say much considering how insanely obnoxious he is.
