Yes. It is. Sometimes it's my Skype friends, actually. "Can't play with this 60 bullshit FPS", said a no-bullshit friend of mine a week or so ago. And I've seen people complain about horribly amazing pings, too.

I would need to see that on video... I play on a 30FPS due to computer specs and lowest settings which give away extra details (in other words, context clues to where your enemy is). If they seriously whine about 60FPS and 40ping, you need new friends. That's not complaining, that's bitching like a little girl (you're welcome to copy/paste this to them). Don't get me wrong, I'd love 60FPS and 10ping! That would be incredible. Fact is, true skill won't be halted with such a slight fps/ping drop. That's such a pathetic excuse. If they were truly skilled players, they would be able to adapt to it and still play at least decent. The exception of course being literal lag where there's a .5sec+ delay and/or computer lag ; - ; Hell, I still play decent at that level, but it takes a level of patience to deal with. Lag is no fun man ): Especially when you main skill shot champs. But you make do.

Back around mid-late season 4 there was a huge issue with Riot servers that caused every game to lag, even if you played wired, and people still played ranked and got on with their lives because it will happen, there is no need to rage over a game, if they do rage then they deserve to be shot (at least that's what I think a suitable punishment would be)

Oh there have been plenty of issues. There have been server outages, server-wide lag, even a click delay once! That happened for about a week before a hotfix was released. This was also before all the champs were being reworked to skill shot spells. Imagine being a Xerath main with a .5-1sec delay on all mouse clicks!! Wow it was bad. I just refused to play ranked and did my best. I hope that NEVER returns!

There are situations in which 30 ping can be bad.

Look at it like this: Normally I have 58-66 ping. Pretty "K" ping. But if I have about 75 ping - which by itself isn't bad either - it means I will have terrible packet loss and game will be unplayable until I reboot router like 5 times.

I've played on as much as 300 ping without packet loss. And as little as 80 ping, with packet loss that made the game unplayable.

That's what I'm talking about. Something as pitiful as +10 to ping can be much more destructive than constantly playing with "true" hundreds of miliseconds of connection delay.

I used to play an online FPS in Europe back when there were only NA servers, so the lowest ping I had was 180. It was a perfectly stable connection. Bug god forbid having 80 ping when connecting to an EU LoL server in Europe. Might as well go AFK, that's how much I can do.

And when it comes to FPS. I still play TES5:Skyrim sometimes and something as little as a drop from 30 to 27 is terrible. People simply refuse to understand it.

I can keep on playing at an... optimal skill level until 10 FPS and 400 ping. Values are, of course, approximate... "You think the lag is your ally. I was born in the lag...raised in the lag...and I didn't live without it until I was thirty"

I usually have 90 FPS and 23 ping but still sometimes have fluctuations in performance.
