As a support main, I actually like that this happens. I can pick my main, and then randomly get other roles occasionally, which I do like to try from time to time.

I am a support main and I went Support primary/fill secondary.

That's because you're already queueing for support. It's not going to give you more priority to go support if you already said you'll go support primary. It prioritizes your primary role, and if it can give it to you, then it will. If not, it'll go to your secondary role. With your secondary being fill, the matchmaker is not going to give you any more support positions than you would have gotten with just a support primary because if there were support slots open you would have gotten support in the first place.

If you want support, go support/mid.

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying that going fill won't increase your chances of getting support, whereas going mid secondary will since you're open to less roles. If mid isn't your thing, then try another secondary. But going fill won't increase your chances of getting support because you'll already be given support in situations where a support is needed; you won't be "filling" support.
