I feel DFG wasn't really needed on Syndra. I never used the active I just bought it for the 120 AP. She could kinda nuke without it. I guess it just allowed for faster nukes

It was useful for those who couldn't land skill shots or vs teams with only one real main target to kill.

Deathcap was stronger if you landed most of the rotation vs presetting 6 orbs and going DFG+R. Even then with it's massive base damage vs scaling magic pen is also very strong if you just want to R all game vs getting Deathcap and landing skill shots.

I never bought DFG instead of rabadons, I just pretty much put it where I would put ludens today.
