If we censor everything that may be considered graphic to even a small subset of people then there would barely be anything to show to anyone else.

Sometimes you can't just relent to those who have their own problems. Their problems are kinda theirs to deal with, not ours. You can't put their all burdens on our shoulders.

I'm all for helping people, it really is what I do outside of the internet, but going so far as to call a harmless gif like this graphic just because someone -might- have ptsd of this kind of thing is... well, I wouldn't censor it.

Exactly. People can have PTSD form basically anything. If we ban everything that could set someone with PTSD off, there would be nothing left. I have known people with PTSD, and I know how devastating it can be. But censoring anything that might disturb a very small number of individuals is absurd.

Okay, since I'm STILL getting updates from people talking about the "graphic content" thing:

We have content warnings, so sniveling crybabies are allowed to be such if they want, and thinking a tough-guy attitude makes anyone better is BS. I promise you the news station that aired this gave a warning about the "graphic nature" of this video before they showed it. But this auto-loads. There's no chance to decide, "I don't want to see a dude get run over and start to think he's toast before I see he's relatively unhurt." What if somebody has heart problems and needs to avoid stress? (Answer: they're not playing League, that's for sure.) I am against censorship, but I am all for giving people choices about what they want to view or not.

And considering traffic accidents are a leading cause of death and injury in the US and probably a lot of other places, too, to the extent that a lot of people who saw that without the "Zhonya's" context probably thought "oh shit, he's dead" before the truck passed over him completely, and it's easy to forget that context when you see someone get run over by a large truck... This might be something people don't want to see. Give them that choice. It's not unreasonable. Too many people think doing something in the name of humor absolves them of responsibility for the things they say, do, or share. "It's just a joke! He's fine!" Maybe to you. It's never just a joke to everyone.

And to all the people making fun of "triggers": you don't belong in civilized society if you can't share it with people whose experiences are different from yours. Get over yourselves.

For what it's worth, I don't normally go around calling people "sniveling crybabies" for having feelings about things. I just meant to say that if that's the stance people are taking, it doesn't excuse the disrespect. People can cry or be upset or whatever if that's the reaction that they have, or they can choose not to view something if they don't want to see it, and it doesn't make them lesser than those who have no outward response or want to act tough.
