this champion is already my least favorite champion, as it represents riots inability to make a character that I have wanted ever since their concept.

anyway, the whole problem with ao shins design, its obvious the kit he needs is it not? storm dragon needs to deal with clouds. a passive that makes a small cloud that does nothing every so often around him, like a small aoe nothing, kind of like illinois. and all of his abilities do something irrelevant or incredible based on the cloud. the cloud should form around him, and he should be able to somewhat control it, but it should be semi random.

ability one, a basic lightning bolt, hits a small aoe and does a little damage. if it hits a cloud, it does damage in the clouds radius and increases the damage of the bolt, as well as removing the cloud.

ability two, a small heal that flows kind of like nami's bubble, not exactly but something like that. if it hits a cloud, the cloud heals in its field for a few seconds and then dissapears.

ability three, an average movespeed buff that increases over a short duration, like a 10%-50% change after a few seconds, if he travels through a cloud the cloud charges him and he instantly gets to max speed and makes the cloud give a small boost to allies tat pass through it for a few seconds befor edisapearing.

his ult would be like the one in the thing, he would become untargetable for a duration and create a big cloud that disappears after he is done ulting in a decent area, during this duration he would still be able to cast spells. the fx would make it look like he was going around but that would be an illusion, just put him under the ground like vlad and make it look like a lightning ao shin is flying around in a big circle.

there, a cool kit that is both interesting to play and has unique game elements that don't inherently break the game. he would remain good in the mid lane, but would be more of a support or top laner.

and the issue of creating a fluid dragon? not super hard to solve, just use static animations for certain things and instead of serpentine, focus more on floaty.

you can't give up on the storm dragon, he has so much potential that you aren't putting into it. also he is already in official riot stuff

I think they didn't want the stereotypical storm dragon. Riot probably wanted to do something different with him.

The biggest problem with Ao Shin was not his kit, was not his serpentine body, but that RIOT leaked information about him WAY too soon because they were as hyped as we all became.

Ultimately, this champion coming out is what the dragon champion became. I know thats hard to swallow, but they just were not satisfied with it as was, and obviously took it in a slightly different direction.

I too wanted the storm Dragon, I had come up with some kit ideas as well:

Passive: Storm Dragon's Talons. Passively grants Ao Shin magic damage on auto attacks. Every 5th AA deals the magic damage to the primary target and 1/2/3 other targets (with ult ranks). Small base damage, scales with AP. Increase magic damage by 50% while at maximum charge.

Charge: Ao Shin's resource is called Charge. Everytime his abilities hit a target, he generates charge. At 100% charge, he can activate his ultimate.

Q: Lightning Breath- Basically, think Xerath laser, except it doesn't pass through people, but if it hits a target, it branches out to other targets like static shiv. How many targets beyond the first increases with rank.

W: Storm Armor- The cloud around Ao Shin becomes dark and thunderous, striking out at nearby enemies with lightning bolts at a rate of 1 per second. While storm armor is active, he gains 5/10/15/20/25 bonus armor and magic resist.

E: Ride the Winds- Ao Shin spins into a lightning Vortex and dashes a short distance. Minions and small monsters in his path take dmg and are pushed away. Champions and large monsters take damage and are flung into the air and slowed. Ao Shin also passively gains movement speed.

R: Storm of Vengeance- Ao Shin summons a large storm that covers the map. Mini map vision is reduced and enemy champions are slowed a small amount for the duration. Allies recover 3/4/5% of their missing health per second for the duration of the storm (10 seconds).

I came up with that on the fly. Fun kit with new and interesting mechanics in it. Ultimately though, its RIOT's champion, and they just got over excited and told us about it too soon.

TLDR- Im sad its not Ao Shin the storm dragon, but Im still hyped for this champion.

I bet the dragon is going to be a freaking support champ. My anger will know no bounds.
