At least the pokemon used to be random in season 1. Nowadays it's same pokemon that the episode focuses on. Ash gets Froakie. Who's that pokemon. Froakie.

Yeah. The Japanese version is even lamer. It's like "match the shadow of this unknown Pokemon card with another" and they give you 4 options. The other 3 are always like something VERY different like the entire Team Rocket.

The real question is: Why is the german translation for Veigars taunt "What is green and blue, and shows you the definition of pain?" This doesn't even make sense!
