Lux is just a worse version of Morgana tbh.
Taking into account that Lux copied the Dark Binding, and renamed it "Light Binding", I think she has some serious copyright problems with Morgana.
Lux has range and does her damage much faster.
First off, I enjoy playing both. Each has a similar kit (snare, shield, AoE) but executes in an entirely different manner. Lux is has more burst and range on her ult, but Morg brings more CC to the table (and CC immunity) for teamfights.
In lane, Lux's ideal is a Q E (cast) auto R (cast) E (pop) R (fire) auto. This procs her passive 3 times and lands all her abilities in the shortest time (roughly 1.5 seconds) which is usually enough to kill or cripple a target. It does have conditions (being in auto range, landing the snare, etc) but can also be executed a bit less optimally further away (QERE) with the option of walking in for an auto after the ult.
Lux also has significantly annoying poke patters, either Zoning with E or snap casting it for fairly easy to land damage. Her passive proc also encourages enemies to keep their distance.
Morg, however, relies more on her Q for combo damage and less on direct poking. Her combo takes a full 3-5 seconds to fully preform (due to the delay on her ult and time to sit on the pool). She works better as a disengager rather than a burster - in lane, wait for the enemy to dive on you and shield their CC, ult and walk with them if they try to run (or retreat if they push the attack). Just before the ult stuns, drop a pool under them, then auto once or twice and hit them with a snare before the stun wears off. Continue auto'ing. The enemy should be fairly hurt by now, or dead.
Calling one worse than the other is a fallacy - they just excel at different things with similar, but distinct kits.
I was just expecting this when I got Lux:

In reality, I got this:

Both equally stimulating.
Lololol
To be fair, he only saved the Ahri. The rest who were in the path of the skill still got hit.
I thought that was draven's damage
Darius was hit, as he received a stack of illumination. Wukong was hit, but damage was mitigated by Lulu's shield; Draven's E alone should not have damage enough to pierce the shield, specially on a tank. Ahri was saved, as mentioned before, but even if not, she'd have flashed away (the only reason she flashes late is because of Draven's E CC). The fourth target is Woukong's clone, which I'm not sure if he received the hit or not, but doesn't matter: it's the clone, though Draven seemed to have a vendetta on him as he used Q on it. Lulu was never in risk of being hit.
