With all that health and his shield getting some resistances in the form of tabi and abyssal seems alright if you're going for a tankier AP bruiser kinda build.... Kinda forgot he was manaless though so the catalyst does make a lot less sense XD

Abyssal is by no means a bad item on Rumble. It's the only item for him to get AP and magic resistance, and he consistently gets close enough to use the passive.

He's a caster. He does damage with his abilities. Obviously he needs ability power. ~Logic of probably most new players and you can't blame them.

I'm looking at these items and I'm saying to myself, "Ok, if I buy 6 of these, I'll have 3000 health, 300 armor, and at lvl 18, I'll deal 258 dmg per sec. Fuck yeah this is a great build."

My entire world was turned upside down when I found out that Unique passives don't stack.

He's not my main persay but I like to play him a lot to counter Rivens.

Yeah, I remember building multiple boots because I wanted to go fast, and multiple hunter's machetes as I wanted to deal more damage to the dragon.

I stopped building Wit's End when it stopped dealing 42 damage. It just lost it's charm after that.

Only goes back to season 4 and I started in season 2, but I imagine it was standard builds at the time since I had an easy strategy in mind:

At this point I had been playing long enough to know that I didn't quite understand builds, so I found people who did and mimicked their champ pools, builds, masteries, even playstyles.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I remember playing almost exclusively Teemo top from level 5 - 21 or so before I started branching out, and I remember my build looking something like this: Malady, Nashor's Tooth, Berserker Grieves, Wit's End, Frozen Mallet, Madred's Bloodrazor. I can't honestly tell you how I did, but it seemed like it was fine at the time.
