I think rumble is fine where he is right now. One good rumble ult can win a team fight

I was thinking maybe something to buff his tankiness. I mean he is in a literal tank, why is he so squishy?

The issue is that his ult cd has been nerfed to high heaven so he is lucky to have it every other teamfight since cdr is a terrible stat on him.

As a former Rumble main, I would say yes, buff the hell out of Rumble. As an objective observer, I would say not really. IMO he's not a great pick right now because top lane is so tank focused, and you lose out on that tankiness by picking Rumble, but he's certainly not unplayble, particularly in the right comp.

Deffintely, that's why in the Korean LCS (I think it is) he is pretty good just due to them knowing how to play around him, but you never get that in sol-- cough cough sorry, Dynamic Queue. And just since top lane atm is so tank focused, it's harder for him because most tanks have shit loads of CC while the best he has is his E and the little slow on his ultimate. I mean for toplane you either have a pure tank, Maplhite, Maokai, or a bruiser, Jax, Irelia. Overall, unless you have someone like Amumu, Varus, Sona, Nami, or someone else that can hold the enemies in place for a bit, then Rumble just does not fit into a team at the moment.

I find it's less about cc, and more about a general team fight comp. The problem is, if you go Rumble in a team fight comp, you need the jungle and/or the support to pick up the tank role. And at the moment tanky junglers aren't a huge thing, so unless you get a Braum or Ali, your team has almost no ability to set a fight line and hold it, which definitely isn't what you want with Rumble.

Rumble is a lane bully and a team fighting ult. If you give Rumble any more strength, that lane becomes broken and it will be Rumble every game. We had that in season 2 I think? Rumble absolutely dominated top lane. Rumble is fine where he's at. You pick Rumble to deny farm, harass, poke, and push out a weak early laning phase champs. But he is a mid game champ where he spikes with magic pen. Right now, when he spikes he's already very strong. The only way you can make him stronger is to give him stronger W and E right? Nah that'll break top lane again. Rumble doesn't need W to be stronger because his base stats are pretty good as is. He's a champ where even if you fall behind, you can simply just try to last hit or farm safely and use ult from a distance during fights. He really shouldn't be getting any buffs when you got a lot of top laners that still struggle to see play time much in comparison.

Could you name out some of those top laners? Last time I checked, Rumble had less than a 2% play rate at the moment.

Singed and Aatrox comes to mind but you're right Rumble isn't that far off in pick % probably from these guys.
