That happened to me when i got a quadra kill on zed I ignited the last person at 100hp it ticked once and then twice and right before the 3rd tick could kill them random jinx rocket!!!!!

Also the worst decision you have to make: your teammate got the quadra, last enemy is fleeing with low HP. Do you root him and maybe kill him or just let him go?
Take away the penta, do it for teh lulz

I really don't care. As long as I win the game...
I won't go out of my way to take the last kill, but I also won't go out of my way to make sure the teammate gets the penta. I mean, if the last enemy is getting away, and I can stop him, if the teammate with the quadra can't stop him before me, then eh, he wasn't in position to get a penta anyway.
This happend to me once when I was 17/1/10 on Jayce and did so much damage i particularly instabursted their Malphite. But of course the 2/6 Vayne stole the penta.

I had a Caitlyn do this to me as Teemo in ARAM once. I had gotten a quadra and had just walked into range for a Q to get what would have been my first penta, and Caitlyn decided "Ah Fuck it" and ulted my Penta away. . I guess it made my actual first (and only on SR outside of custom bot games) penta with Ashe (and her then mostly useless passive) more sweet, but come on. That's just mean.
For real though, we all know that there is only one way to steal a penta. 
I only give pentakills to players who deserve it. If the person is playing Master Yi and ksing his allies then im not going to give it to him. If they are playing a champion who requires ANY skill i will give the penta...
