The reason people complain about everyone being morally black or white is the lack of variety. But when every champion is the exact same shade of grey, there is even less variety.

How many "good" characters have they made that are actually evil? Not really that many recently.
What exactly are you referring to? Or are you just speaking in general?
Riot has some absolutely evil characters. Almost ANY shadow isles champion falls under classically evil the way you would expect traditional undead to be evil.
It's hard to justify what 
or 
does as anything other than evil.... Eve being chaotic evil and LB being lawful evil.
I feel they take a more muted stance on traditional good characters because lawful good has always been a less engaging alignment story wise.
