the life of a support tank:
- initiate
- cc to the best of your ability
- defend the back line
- get killed for a 1-5 trade off
- everyone congratulates the one who landed most the kills and completely forgets about you ;__;

... and they just run back into death anyway because they thought you were engaging. =|

Life of Dr. Mundo:
- Throw cleavers.
- When they engage, activate ult.
- Chase after the enemy ADC while being on fire.
- While support chases you to save the ADC while the ADC desperately tries to kite and deal damage, regenerate and go where you please.
- Throw more cleavers.
- Since you lacked damage to burst down the ADC, you'll probably take more than 5 seconds for your team to do something. It's a 3v4 situation since support is too busy minding you and ADC probably doesn't want Mundo in the face.
- Teamfight is over by the time you finish chasing the ADC and your ult is gone.
- Get blamed for not being on front-line.
- Repeat process. Mundo goes where he pleases.

I main support and the thing I hate most is sacrifiicing myself to allow them to get away and then my teammate(s) die anyway because they think they can save me.
I don't get reported for pulling a stunt like that too often. More commonly, what happens to me is that the ally I was trying to save turns around to try to fight as well (even though I'm pinging at them to run away) and they die with me. It's really not all that fun.
I used to do this. Sadly, it resulted in far too many double kills. I do much less of this, trending toward zero.
Or when they attempt a 4v5 after they knew you intentionally sacrificed yourself so they can live.
or they run back up into the battle.......... and die one by one
