I usually have enough health from items to survive, and resistances later in the game. Waste of ult usually.

Since when does Karthus negate Soraka's ult during laning phase?

All he does is simply rip out the souls of his enemies.

one day a karthus main will shit on your parade- they do exist.

And Karthus' ult does more damage than Soraka's heal. ALTHOUGH it will still probably make that person survive it anyways- as at lvl 1 his ult does 250. Soraka does 150 last I checked- so unless you're pretty screwed and walking away with 17 health you can pop a few biscuits and a middle finger and call it good.

Are you taking windspeakers and ap from spelltheif's item line and runes? Ardent Censor also messes with the math.
