versus tanks but the 4 man ranged meta never stopped it just had a time where tanks got subbed in some games and then those guys cried 'tank meta because 1 person was slighty harder to kill than the others

I played ADC Kennen a few days ago and my support Blitz refused to support for me so he went top with Fiora

The funny thing is they both lost to a Darius

"I hope you liked top lane Blitz"

Then just yesterday I played Vi mid (first time) and actually was able to Solo kill a Yasuo thanks to her W

My team was like "Holy shit you won a 1v1 versus Yasuo?"

Then again I could really only absorb assists but I did make the game winning play when their Yasuo was out of position I one shoted him (my build was weird because I did like a Talon build with a BotRK in it so I could proc W more) and we charged down mid

I still don't understand why people rage when someone picks something off-meta in normals

Note: Kennen in genral is my main who I do enjoy playing ADC in norms

i win 1v1 against Yasuo on Vi all the time :| is it really that special? ._. he dies pretty easily, especially after lvl 6

Yasuo loses vs a lot of melee bruisers/assassins. Take something that can actually duel mid lane and Yasuo gets fucked.

I legit remember this game. I was the support playing vs you and we asked blitz why he didn't want to support and he was like kennen is not an adc, I only follow the meta .. My whole team was like what the actual f*. Plus you were actually doing great eventhough you lost lane a bit but I bet if this blitz was supporting you, you would've actually won 100%. He is so crazy xD

I don't think the first time playing a champion should even be in normals. I'm not saying you should play "X games against AI" before going to normals but you should at least play one game against AI just to get a feel for what the champion does. Especially on more mechanically complicated champions.

I disagree. Unless it's a brand new champion, you should have a clue how to play them if you've seen them before. You're not gonna learn anything from bots.

Playing against a champion doesn't show you how to play the champion. It shows you what the champion is doing. A good example of the difference between playing a champion and watching a champion is Rumbles ult. Karthus wall. You see it be places but you don't see how it gets placed the way it set itself up. Playing against the AI lets you get comfortable with using the champions abilities. Which is vital to playing the champion right. If you don't know how to use the abilities and your not playing against an actual opponent your not gonna have the time to get comfortable with them. due to you having to split your attention among too many things as is.

If you have played more than 100 games, you should pretty much be able to use any ability after the first time.

by that logic. It being a freshly released champion won't matter. That logic is saying all abilities are fundamentally the same. However that isn't true. Utilizing Lulu's help, pixie to increase the range of your glitterlance isn't learned through playing other champions or playing against lulu. The play is known and you may have an idea but that doesn't mean you can do it successfully if you haven't done it before. Adding the stress of needing to learn the mechanics of a champion on top of the stresses of playing the game against people makes you fail harder than learning the mechanics in a bubble and utilizing them against players.

Closest thing to the help, pixie glitterlance is the zed shadow and shuriken. however that's still not the same due to the fact that the shurikens come from a stationary shadow not a moving ally or minion.

Again, if you can't learn how that interaction works after 2-3 casts, you should be playing EXCLUSIVELY bots.

There are VERY few abilities that are difficult to use after you see what it does.

Ekko W, the shadow from Zed's ult, and MAYBE Bard ult, but even that one is arguable.

It depends on mechanical difficulty a lot. I mean I think the first time I played Maokai was in ranked and I did fine that game. I did really well in lane and brought a lot of utility to the team. He's basically point and click so if you know the skills it's just learning timing (like knowing in my first game that when I tower dove w/ jungle I started w/ aggro and used knock up and slow but saved my stun till their dash bc it closes the gap, stuns them, and most importantly resets tower aggro). Bots doesn't really matter bc if you know leveling order and have played against it a bunch you shouldn't be splitting your focus assuming it's a similar play style ( Maokai is pretty similar to Malphite or Nunu in terms of wanting to tank damage and provide utility and cc to the team, and I play them a decent amount).

I might do one game if it's something I'm really unfamiliar with. On the other hand, though, if it's a lot like what I already play, I'll jump straight to normals.

If you are playing a champion for the first time don't even play league. Practise with a pen and paper using your imagination. Don't even think about opening a league game with ought first mastering all the champions. This isn't a casual game you scrub.

__I tried AP Lulu top for a few games in TB, and in one game since i heard she was viable in solo lanes still,but my jungler and other laners absolutely refused to gank my lane or help me in any way because "lulu is support you troll"..lol...where were you before the game started?..afk?...i ended up going something like 0/5 because i was getting camped by the enemy jungler, and couldn't even farm under turret, and whenever i would go into the jungler to farm up to compensate, my team got hysterical, my jungler harassed me for taking camps (even if they were the enemy camps). and flipped out on me whenever the enemy garen would TP bot, for not calling "MIA..". even though i pinged it twice. But if your not going to help me, then i'm going to try and catch up via abandoned lane minions and jungle camps, and why should i call MIA for you, when you never call MIA for anyone else? x-x.

Don't force someone into a role they don't want then. Talk it out find the best match for everyone s skills

This happens all the time. Some people just won't do anything but mid. Sometimes it's down to 3 guys who all hate ADC. If you get stuck with a role you hate, pick someone you've played in that role. If you don't, it's basically trolling because you didn't get what you want.

I freely admit adc is my weakest role. I do however know how to play ashe sivir and tristana. I tell my jungler to camp bot or we are going to lose the game. Because it is in fact true if I gain a lead in bot which does happen its all good but if I fall behind its pretty much gg

Yeah, but it's also proficiency. You should have SOMETHING you can play in every role if forced, but support and 2-3 others are the only things you really need to have champs strong in that role if you want to climb. I generally don't ADC but if I have to I play Heimer bot bc he pushes and if we can get ahead and early baron w/ him we can close out mid game and win before I get out scaled, which is a much better chance to win than if I play a traditional ADC. It happens so infrequently it doesn't hurt my climb really and I'm higher ranked than like 70% of the server w/out playing ADC since I was mid/low silver so it isn't really a HAVE to play sort of thing. (Yeah you shouldn't play something you don't know in an off role though bc if you don't know how to do that role for shit you need every advantage you can get)

Bots =/= People

Edit: You should learn the absolute basics about a champ against bots, but bots will not make you any better at your champ after 2-3 bot games. At that point, the AI is no longer challenging and you need real opponents of equal or greater skill to play against in order to improve.

It's mainly so that you can learn how they handle. The basics of their kits, how the auto attacks feel, whether you can induce insanity in opponents with a laugh spam, etc.

Had that happen the first time I played Kindred . this guy playing Ekko (his mastery lvl is 5 with him btw) saw I picked kindred and had summoner 11 equipped, so he equips as well. half the match in while he kept taking from all the blue buffs (even when he just got one from the other camp -__-) he says "I can't tell if the champ is bad or if your bad". Gee, maybe I'd do better if there wasn't a prick with a mastered champ taking half the farm and killing my marked targets!
