Meh I personally really hate ganking top lane. I am fine doing it early and hell I will do it throughout the game but its more desirable to stick around mid & bot. Plus.... half the time your top just constantly pushing in anyways so ganking without tower diving is very difficult. Then another chunk of the time they die instantly at like level 1-3 for no rhyme or reason other than getting out played. Then they 1. Keep trying to fight & push and die over & over, 2. get pushed under turret.
Now in situation 2 I can help you or at worst case protect turret while you back. But in situation 1. ganking top becomes a pain. There so many times people feed then ping spam need assistance and want ganks but generally a lot of those times a gank would just turn into a double kill for the enemy. Obviously every situation is unique and takes some consideration but..... its not just as simple as "gank top bruh".
I am sorry for missing ganks top.... but you have to understand the number of completely incompetent top laners I have had to deal with throughout the years. It sometimes takes time to feel players out.
