It is an exclusive feature; separate from new champ select.

Yes you could. However, the majority of complaints about Dynamic Queue have to do with ranked.

According to a rioter they are intertwined at the code level. So while they are separate entities, they are codependent. Thus cannot exist separately.

New champ select could exist without dynamic queue, but riot would have to unscramble their spaghetti code for that.

My guess is that they are limited by the current architecture. They are working on fixing that by updating the client to industry standard levels. But when they started i doubt the program they used to make the client was designed to be able to rapidly change. So to make any significant changes, like champion select, would be a bitch and a half. It certainly is possible for them not to be codependent. It's just that it would require recoding the entirety of champ select and dynamic queue, in what i assume to be a very change reluctant architecture. So i can imagine it's not something they are going to do. I don't work at Riot (yet) but this is my guess as to the developers side of things. (I also think they catch too much crap for all the hard work they do) I'm just going to wait until the new client before i expect any other big changes. Since at this point it would be a waste of resources to rework something in the old client when you can build it to it's optimal state in the upcoming one. But hey, that's just some humble programmers opinion, so feel free to keep mashing that downvote button.

Well this is to mislead you. What they really mean is, DQ can't survive without New Champ Select. They use wordplay to confuse the majority. It's common in the business world.

It was a Rioter on the programming team? And he specifically said that the reason they can't separate the two is because of how they were programmed to be reliant on each other. It wasn't confusing or misleading in any way. It was an honest reason why the two haven't been separated. I would know since i actually read the post and all of the context surrounding it, not just twisted a summery of it to make it say what i want it so say, and make riot a bunch of lying scumbags.

So? How does that make him less cunning? No it's not an honest reason. I read the post and used common sense. Remove DQ, put Solo Queue with the new champ select. Will it function? Optimally. Now remove the New Champ select and put DQ with the old champ select. Will it work? Nope. So I don't get how hard it is to see that.

That's not the entire truth though.

The whole game is one big codebase and the guy was talking from his current work perspective which lead to major misunderstanding.

The programmer said this cause the New Champ Select is implemented as a code together with DynamicQ while the two are working together and are interconnected currently making ONE WHOLE THING in the current situation aka NOW.

Other Rioters have confirmed this.

They ARE NOT the same thing as evident from the fact that earlier this season they temporarily removed DQ while leaving NCS active alongside the old Solo/DuoQ.

DQ and NCS were also introduced at a different time and separately from each other on the PBE.

So, you're wrong.
