LoL MMORPG

Riot please make an LoL themed mmorpg for the following reasons.

  • You guys have enough lore already made and why let it go to waste on the 50% or less that actually read the champ and location lore.
  • You guys already have classes made out (Marksman, mage, assassin, tank, fighter, and support) all you need to do is make a couple of subclasses for each ( example bladedancer for assassins, or beserker for fighters).
  • Enough factions have been made for a warring mmo feel like WoW now having 12 factions(Noxus, Demacia, Ionia, Zaun, Piltover, Shurima, The Void, Bandle City, the 3 minor factions from the Freljord, and the Shadow Isles. Not to mention you can have neutral factions and also have different factions help one another i.e most of Zaun and Noxus, or Ionia, Deamica and Piltover siding together, also you could have factions side for the sake of power in the Runterrian war like The Void and Shurima)
  • Also you can use current champs as mentors for the classes like KatarinaKatarina for the assassin sub class bladedancer that align themselves with Noxus for example or TryndamereTryndamere for beserkers than side with the Freljord.
  • An MMORPG would also open the doors to people that don't like RTS/MOBA style games but like MMORPG's
  • The biggest reason YOU GUYS WOULD MAKE A CRAP LOAD OF MONEY think about it riot makes roughly 638 million dollars a year from league alone if you guys had a free to play up to like say level 20 and make a yearly subscription for say $60 or a little more a year after 20 and a lot of people like it it would make a lot of revenue making Riot more of a growing powerhouse of a gaming company it already is.

As much as I love League of Legends, the reason I could even get into league in the first place is cause it was free. I feel like making it something one has to pay for might ruin the point a little. Just a thought. I do like the idea of a LoL themed MMO though. Maybe this one might actually capture my attention. :D

MMORPG for LoL wouldn't work. Because why we have rosters in the first place is to spawn 100+ more or less individual and unique playstyles from each other, while a class system of MMORPGs will only destroy that, making having LoL as the base completely pointless and backwards.

If anything, a fighting game would be more than welcome, just not MMORPGs.

I don't buy subscription based games. Guild wars2 for life.

Subscription based games are failing. The only one that can hold any players is WoW, and even they are losing players

OK i dont mean they have to have a subscription based game im just throwing an idea from a person that loves league and mmorpgs out there

I don't think MMORPG would be the best fit for LoL's characters. It's fine for the world but it would be hard to force the existing characters into the game in any significant way, since to progress a story usually requires character death and people are very attached to a lot of League characters and probably wouldn't take well to having their favourite character killed off.

What I think would fit the characters a bit better is a single player RPG in the vain of Mass Effect. In a single player RPG you can have branching story, which allows people some sort of agency over which characters would live and die in the story.

If players make a choice that results in their favourite character dying they tend to be more annoyed with them-self than angry at the game.

I've tried getting into MMORPGs multiple times. WoW was the latest one. And everytime I got board. League of Legends is literally the only online game that kept me coming back for four years.
